  1. Too much pressure I think to throw him in, would like to see him play soon though aye. The team/manager know that all eyes are on them now. No more blaming Warburton and him taking the flack for their pish performances See Hodson at LB if Wallace doesn't make it...might be good, free up McKay down the wing, feel Wallace always gets in the spaces McKay should be in
  2. If he changes the formation on Sunday, come out with a different lineup or tactics and it works then he deserves the ICT game, same thing from that if he wins he goes on to the St Johnstone game...take it game at a time. If not and it's the same pish against Dundee then we bring somebody in at the start of next week. All the while we need the board to be working on a permanent replacement...him winning can buy us some time to do that.
  3. Aye fair point. Be happy with him coming in, if he does a good job and does everything we expect of him then by all means he deserves to apply for the job alongside others. Just wouldn't want him to be given it at the end of the season without applying, with him in we'll waste these months comfortable with an interim manager then it's a scramble in the summer getting a list of possible managers together to bring in, eventually deciding to stick with him....can just see it all unfolding like that I'd take Murty till the summer and focus on a full time replacement personally but see how it all goes
  4. Give it to McLeish till the end of the season...if he finishes 2nd, the performances improve and we have a decent cup run (possibly win it) then you'll have a very hard job of convincing Dave King and some of the fans that he's not the man to take us forward. He'll want less of a wage than most i'm guessing, won't require compensation and by the end of the season will have been in the job a few months and be getting comfortable. Worried if we bring him in interim he'll end up the full time boss.
  5. Exactly this... Ashley isn't there anymore from a business standpoint, he can't be making anywhere near as much as he thought he would have. It's more a point of principle from the stubborn prick, King rubbed him up the wrong way and he's just left us to deal with the problem.
  6. Fair enough mate I'll add something lol! Honestly didn't even think anything of it when making it, looking at it now I can see why, don't want questioned every now and again
  7. Fs .... I got questioned about this yesterday lol Was 4 random numbers I typed in a username years ago, always just stuck with it Lance isn't my real name either....
  8. Did see it in the original post but read Murty's update last night which said he's in training as of yesterday.... Doubt he'll be risked but not seen anything saying he's not available, not yet anyway lol Team's what i'd like to see on Sunday, barring the obvious long term injuries
  9. Foderingham Hodson Hill Wilson Wallace Windass Hyndman Toral Mckay Garner Miller
  10. Aye saying that usually is a dig at the board, wasn't meant that way but for various reasons he didn't get his first targets. Mariappa was never coming, not the boards fault but was an example of him not getting what he thought he needed/wanted. He's never had a backup plan for anything, transfers were just the start of him not having a plan B but think you'll hear him come out when all this resignation business is sorted and blame the board for forcing him to go down the route of older, out of contract players. Barton was signed for Season Ticket sales, the rest were him just taking what he could get. Garner sums him up for me tbh, a square peg in a round hole if you've ever seen one, guy scored 25 goals upfront for Preston in a 4-4-2, we bring him up and stick him upfront himself and wonder why he's not scoring. O'hallaron is another example, Windass being another, was played almost upfront for Stanley but we stick him in CM and wonder why he's struggling...
  11. Would add Windass into the hasn't fulfilled his full potential category. Not seen enough of Crooks to judge.
  12. He identified Senderos as a target aye after Mariappa...Hill...Lescott and whoever else we were in talks with....he settled for Senderos otherwise we'd have signed the guy weeks before. His problem, as you said was focusing on an overinflated english market aye, paying far over the odds for some players but some of the signings he done weren't who he usually went for. He's a stubborn bastard as we've seen all season, he has his ways and sticks with them, all they older out of contract players aren't his usual type. From a guy who plays 1 formation all season, ignores criticism, ignores calls to drop players and to do anything different, to start signing players like that is confusing as fuck The point was answering somebody above, I don't believe he got his first targets, not blaming the board for all of it, he wasted money on Garner especially but he settled for players.
  13. Aye possibly, very risky though. Chances are if a players available on a free he's either shit, older, injury prone or somebody who hasn't hit their full potential. Offering them a high wage is a recipe for disaster.
  14. Main bit of evidence would be Mariappa, obviously a higher target than Senderos was but in the end we settled for Senderos. Barton/Kranjcar/Hill/Senderos, all go against Warburton's past signings at Rangers & at Brentford of signing young players and selling them on. Dodoo, Rossiter, Windass, Crooks were all the type of players he usually signs. He did spend a bit of money on fees/wages I completely agree, not excusing him the slightest but Mariappa was the one we knew about because he was pictured with him, there will have been others. The board did back him enough to comfortably finish 2nd though, 100%.
  15. Warburton's signings were fucking shocking I agree, not 1 of them has actually made a big difference to the team (Hyndman aside but he's played like 4 games) Just looking it from the other side....was he forced to go for out of contract injury prone players like Hill, Lescott, Senderos, Mariappa, Kranjcar etc because of the board not giving him the money he expected or were they the players he identified as being what he needed and the moves just didn't happen for various reasons... Either way his signings were rotten
  16. All of them are freebies though, all on 10-15k a week probably aye but not a penny spent to get any of them. Whether that was the board not giving him the money and he was forced to look at them or he decided to spend the money elsewhere (Garner) we'll probably not find out now.
  17. Looking at it like that then that's a fair point aye He was definitely pictured with Mariappa, the Crystal Palace defender. He was 29 im sure at the time and was available on a free, sure Warburton would rather him over Senderos or even Lescott. Probably never find out but aye would be interesting to know how many of them were his first choices, can't imagine he went out in the summer with the intention of signing Hill/Senderos as his 2 main CBs
  18. Got away with it at Arsenal for a good while, had a very good team around him but aye some of the clubs he's played for is incredible for such a shit player lol Must do something in training with these clubs which he doesn't do on match days, we see him 90 minutes a week (if he plays) they see him day in day out.
  19. Was a panic buy, guy was on trial with us for weeks before it when Warburton was pictured having lunch with Mariappa and trying to get Lescott to sign, Senderos was his 3rd option at least, possibly lower. Only signed him when he realised nobody else was coming.
  20. Look at names through those eyes and you'll find something wrong with 99% of the usernames on the forum fs
  21. Was probably even better than that...had full name, email address and listed my seat at Ibrox... Phone up pretending to be and you could've had a field day Been a long day, don't be too harsh lol
  22. I have I have... Full name in the email so even better... Removed it now ... chalk it down to a rookie mistake!
  23. Was a good few years ago now to be fair but aye cheers lol
  24. LOL! If somebody finds an anagram of a night in Lisbon from that then fuck me there's some right paranoid bastards in the world.... Not my real name believe it or not....again it was something used years ago online and i've stuck with it.... Never thought i'd have to explain the fucking thing though
