  1. Again it's all speculation...it was said the agent went and asked for this to be activated, Rangers agreed, the agent then came back later in the week and asked for the resignation to be pulled back, the board refused.
  2. This is the thing i've seen everywhere. As it stands there's been absolutely no explanation for the line "The board accepted this offer and employment was immediately terminated" That'll come back and bite Dave King on the arse
  3. Agree with most of what you've written. Only thing I have to add is the compensation portion...read somewhere that clauses were put into each of their contracts at the end of last season allowing them to move onto another club and Rangers would waive comenstation, this was something the board allowed them to have, assuming that if over the next few years a club came knocking they could leave. Possibly something else to sweeten the deal as the board were obviously happy enough to give them new contracts so this would be a bonus of such. This means the 3 of them look a much better deal than say Nottingham Forrest having to to pay us 1 million to take them. Whether or not Warburton's agents asked for this to be activated which has then resulted in all this or the board have decided to take it upon themselves and are now going to have to spin a web of lies and hearsay....is yet to be seen. I really really don't see Warburton/Weir or McParland going into a room/conference call and saying I'm tendering my resignation, we're in talks with another club.... Just doesn't make sense...unless they 100% knew they have another job lined up.
  4. It is aye.... Not sure what 1697 is supposed to be in reference of.....it's literally 4 random numbers I typed after an alias I created online years ago and i've stuck with it ever since.....in all future online usernames, I used 1697
  5. This is screaming court case Us eventually losing and have to pay compensation
  6. Not sure about Conte....don't think he'd suit our system......
  7. That's why I said being cynical lol There's been no mention of a DoF, Warburton never hinted that we would be getting one or even looking to change things at the club in this capacity. Everything else was getting leaked out of the board room, why not this? The board, to a certain extent, understand the fans are pissed off. Coming out and saying they've been doing things for months is a way to appease that. They've now got the rest of the season to sort out a manager/DoF or whatever.
  8. Maybe being cynical but I doubt they've been working on it since last year, they're more of a board who deals with things as they come...not planning for a complete overhaul of the club months in advance.
  9. If that's the case then fair enough, I know a few of them have played well above their age group, a way to prepare them for the psychical side of the game but aye I watched a bit of the u20s match vs hibs last week, had Dodoo, Forrester & Wilson playing, good fitness for Wilson but the other 2 either are good enough for the 1st team or their not. Looking forward to Sunday, just hope we don't come out the same team, making the same mistakes...can only hope!
  10. He has to come in now or very very soon Coming in late March/April and then beginning talks with a manager is too late
  11. Aye i've read/heard a lot of praise given to Murty, seemed to handle the interviews well enough. See what he comes up with against Dundee on Sunday, i've seen a few places saying he's trying new formations in training...be interesting to see who's played, he's not going to get blamed off anybody for the next few results, even if we lose against Dundee and ICT. If we lose, it's the boards fault for not hiring an interim, if he wins he's done his reputation no harm, it's a win/win for him. Must surely be in his mind to try something radical, a switch to a 3-5-2 or to make 9 changes to last weeks team, then we go and win a comfortable 3-0, something that'll make him stand out as a permanent candidate for the job. I agree completely, if we have a DoF who is wanting to interfere in tactics and team selections then we're screwed before it even starts, not 1 credible manager is going to accept that, you'll need to get a head coach in who's a yes man and is just happy to add Rangers to his CV.
  12. That's the only way I think it can work, get a DoF in now/very soon and have them in discussions with the board/potiential managers, find someone they can work with. If we wait till April/May, get both in at the same time, the summer will be a mess of arguments coming from both sides on how to run the place, who to keep on contract and what targets to pursue. Do we have a decent structure though? Without resorting to google etc, i'm sure the u20s are really struggling this season, towards the foot of the table. Results aren't the defining factor in youth football but surely these players should be better than what Aberdeen/Hibs etc have in their youths, otherwise it's pointless having them, they'll never make the step up! We have the odd gem in the youth teams, Gilmour and Burt being the 2 most people talk about, but it doesn't seem to be turning into results.
  13. Surely by hiring a manager and DoF at the same time we'll end up in a situation where 1 is overshadowing the other? Unless you end up with 2 people who have worked together in the past in both positions, you're going to end up with 2 people who likely want to do things their own way Will the manager have full control of the signings? Will it be up the DoF what age group we focus on the most in our youth academy? Not against the idea of a manager and a DoF but you can't hire both at the same time, unless it ends up being the 2 De Boer's for example.
  14. I'd give him a shot yeah, don't think Fod has done much wrong though this season, can't be easy dealing with that back 4, regardless of who's in it its a bomb scare at times Said it before, if we get Rossiter then we build the team around him, Dodoo I'd like to see get a run of games, alongside Garner preferably Warburton always thought the best talent was in the lower English leagues...overall he tried to build a team but made all the wrong signings I don't think we have the players though to play this expansive game, this attacking, play out from the back football We just don't have the quality
  15. Forderingham? Unless Alnwick is a hidden gem lol In a perfect world only 2 or 3 players would survive in the first 11....but let's be honest, we're not going to be able to sign 8/9 players to replace them, not in 1 transfer window anyway Of the squad of 24 we have just now, at least 15 will be here next season, be shocked if it's any less
  16. From what I've seen of De Boer in management, does he not play a very similar formation/tactics to Warburton? While I understand that yes, he can get more of the players and will tactically be x10 the manager of Warburton, he's still going to have the majority of theach squad we have just now, who quite clearly don't suit that formation
  17. "Rob Kiernan has completed his transfer to......" Will sell like fuck
  18. I agree with the sentiment but in the real world that just simply can't happen. Over time we get rid of the shit in our team, this summer is about getting rid of the 4/5 worst players on the highest wages and using the little money we have to replace them with better quality Senderos (High wages, out of contract) O'hallaron (Will get something for him, not much but still something) Kranjcar (Again high wages, look to get him out the door whether it's a mutual termination or something related to injuries) Kiernan (Sell to some league 1 team in England, won't get the reported 2 million for him but we'll get something) Waghorn/Garner (Take your pick who you want to sell and who you keep, need to keep 1 as we need strength in depth but both shouldn't be there, Kenny will be our impact striker off the bench, Dodoo is still young and we need a clinical striker, which both of these 2 are not)
  19. So we keep 4 players (maybe 6) Sell 15.. How are we bringing in 15 better players in the summer? Unless the new manager is from the Abu Dhabi and comes in on the back of a camel, we've got absolutely no chance Some of them have to stay, with better coaching players like Dodoo, Wilson, Garner etc can do a job
  20. Wondered if it had something to do with the fact the next 2 games are away, always good to get a manager (especially an interim) into a home game, hopefully get a good win and off to a good start Can't imagine the reaction if Mcleish came in, we drew with Dundee and lose to ICT.... Might be nothing but it's possible Murty will take the next 2, Mcleish in for St Johnstone on March 1st (Wednesday) then the Scottish Cup game that weekend
  21. Aye you need to have a word....something not right there!
  22. If I had the choice...i'd say go for Gary Monk or someone along that line, a younger manager who doesn't seem to take any shit from the players He's always honest in interviews from what i've seen also, calls out players etc Very wishful thinking though, especially if Leeds go up
  23. After 5 matches, say 1 win, 1 draw, 3 losses.... Fans will start turning, another few losses then he won't get the sympathy Davies will lose all sympathy if he came in and got beat off Dundee on Sunday lol
  24. Last time was from the St Johnstone draw to the old firm at new years, Hasn't been many though but again is that poor management or just players not cementing their place?
  25. Can agree with him in regards with players getting chopped/changed if those players were playing well.....notice how Kenny doesn't get dropped very often Waggy, because he puts 100% into every match All this Warburton stuff has done is given players like him excuses for their pish performances, he's been overweight/unfit all season, could barely run the length of himself at times, was blowing out his arse after 30 minutes at Tynecastle Aye Warburton might have been a pish manager, he was chopping and changing all the time with pish tactics but at the end of the day people like him have been playing shite all season, now he's got his excuse...hardly played a blinder yesterday though without Warburton did he
