  1. Be stunned if we get him, Bournemouth must know he's a quality player. I had sympathy for Halliday because I agree he isn't a DM but it all went when he done an interview saying he thought that was his best position, it plays to his attributes and he's happy to play there.... If he's saying that to the press then what's he saying to the manager.
  2. Makes more sense, didn't think he was an out and out striker but surely wasn't playing in a midfield 3 next to 2 clowns lol Halliday has been appalling but at the moment we don't have any fit players to play that defensive mid position, Hyndman was asked to play there on Saturday and it took him out the game completely, looked a shadow of the player from the Motherwell game. Can tell Windass has talent, for whatever reason something happened around about christmas time and Warburton's dropped him ever since. I'd rather have him on the right of the forward 3 (if Warburton is insisting we stick with the 4-3-3). Not 1 player has made that position his own, Waghorn/Forrester/O'hallaron have all tried and failed. He's an attack minded player but never a centre midfielder, got 2 good feet so can either take someone on down the wing or cut inside and is a good dribbler.
  3. If the guy/woman told to put that post on Twitter was a bear, they'd be sitting with their heads in their hands
  4. Agreed he is a different player but as long as he's played in the middle of the park then it's a comparison. As noted above I don't think the club or Windass himself know his best position, someone correct me if i'm wrong but didn't he play upfront for Accrington Stanley? Had a 1 in 2 goalscoring record last year i'm sure, albeit in league 2, surely didn't get that from playing Centre Mid
  5. Aye harbouring more hope than judgement....at this stage it's all i've got left!
  6. Really hope you're wrong as I can see him being a great player but his fitness level is shocking and if it keeps up he could well end up in the lower leagues in a few years time Windass can be a good player I agree but honestly don't know his best position (don't think he does either)
  7. Better than Halliday/Holt/Windass anyway... Young player who Liverpool had for years, captains the England u19s in a squad which would absolutely tear our team to shreds. If he's fit he's the first name on that team sheet.
  8. I'm not his biggest fan (Just wanted to make that clear lol) but in regards with signings.. Dodoo/Rossiter - looked 2 good young players at big clubs in England, on nominal training fees, they've still got the possibility to be good business if we can get them fit, both could be big parts of a new managers plans Garner - Paid well over the odds but in the right team he can score goals (shown it at Preston in a 4-4-2) but that is one I blame Warburton for, never fit into his formation so shouldn't have been signed Barton - Aye he came with baggage but the few years before he came to us he'd calmed right down and became a good player in the Championship (far better players than up here). Again it didn't work out and that falls on Warburton's man management. Hill - Turned out to be a good signing, without him this season we'd have played Kiernan/Senderos at the back for almost the entire season...we'd be in a far worse situation I think Kranjcar - Good player in his prime, was coming onto a game when he got injured, could've done a job for us up here in this league. Senderos - The last signing I blame Warburton for, was a panic buy, no real excuses for that. Aye it's a lot of if/buts and maybes and i'm starting to sound like Warburton but some of the signings looked to be good on paper, players the fans were happy with (Barton/Rossiter especially) so I have a degree of sympathy that some haven't worked out.
  9. I blamed Warburton for 3 of the signings.....
  10. Barton/Rossiter weren't bad signings, one didn't work and one is injured...both could've turned out very well Hill has probably been our best defender this season Garner has potiential but is in the wrong team, with the wrong tactics, more blame on the manager than the scouting system Senderos/Krancjar are the 2 sticking points i'd say personally,,,1 was a last minute panic buy, the other a injury prone player with some quality With the exception of Hill not one of the signings have worked but I wouldn't blame McPartland for that, blame would lie with a mixture of Warburton (Barton/Garner) & bad luck (Rossiter/Krancjar) Senderos was just a terrible signing
  11. Great...7-10 days... Expect him sometime around April/May then if it's going by Warburtons timeline....
  12. My mistake...thinking about it u21s captain would've been pretty impressive at 19 lol Aye I seen one of the starting 11s he played with, a lot of very talented youngsters, Solanke/Maitland-Niles to add to Reece Oxford and Tammy Abraham. If he's chosen to be captain of them, while it doesn't mean he's the best player in the squad, it means he surely has leadership qualities, something we sorely lack in midfield. Would love to see him get 10-20 games in a row under his belt
  13. Happy to see the guy back training, we know he's got talent but unfortunately his best years are long gone, anyone know what he's on wages wise? As for Rossiter...we're crying out for him, desperately need that kind of player in the middle of the park, he's 19 and it'll be alot of pressure on his shoulders but he's captained the u21s for England with a far more talented squad than we've got currently, he can handle it. Wish we could get some sort of update on the guy!
  14. If I do something wrong in my job I get a disgruntled customer....if I continue to do the same things again and again eventually I lose the support of the supplier/vendor No different to Kiernan, he had the fans backing for a long time, got the odd bit of stick here and there but he's continued to make the same mistakes and cost us goals so the pelters get worse and worse Disgruntled fans are fine in my opinion, we pay money to watch these clowns perform, you get paid money to do a job (good money at that) and you're not doing it properly, if you can't handle that Rob then you know where the door is. If it turns into abuse towards his family etc (not saying it has yet) then it's a problem. I'd stand in the middle of the Ibrox pitch bollock naked and take the abuse he's been getting if I was on that money....he knows he's been shit and if this is to be believed he's thrown in the towel
  15. If Tav was right back when we played a 4-4-2 he wouldn't be as far up the park as he is now, only reason Warburton asks him and Wallace to get up so much is because we play a tight compact midfield 3, with 4-4-2 that job to support the 2 upfront would be left to the right/left midfielders. Completely agree with the McKay thing though, could work as a number 10 yes and could also do better with Wallace out the team, only so much space down the wing so that makes him want to come inside even more
  16. I don't think Tav works in his formation, especially with older CBs with no pace, he expects Tav/Wallace to get up and down that wing every attack but if they get dispossessed they have no cover, doesn't help that overall he's a terrible defender but again Warburton should've known this beforehand Also don't think Barry McKay is an out and out winger, he's played in a 4-3-3 so he should be but he's constantly cutting inside, can count on one hand the amount of times i've seen him take someone on down the wing and get a ball into the box, he waits and waits for Wallace to overlap before cutting inside, it gets overcrowded and he losses the ball
  17. Its worse than that though....if Warburton came in yesterday for his first day and tried to shoehorn those players into a certain formation i'd have sympathy for him and for the players, he's set in his ways and his has beliefs.. It's worse because he's signed most of the squad to play his formation, when clearly some of them just don't fit it in the slightest, Garner being 1 example, Tav another
  18. Any sort of win will do on Sunday, prefer a good performance, bit of confidence but anything will do
  19. I did hear those moans also, never came from me It's a results business, we should do everything in our power to win and that means playing to our players strengths... Simply we're not doing that at the moment.
  20. Would like to see him tried upfront in a 4-4-2 alongside somebody with a bit of pace, Dodoo probably from our options. Will get more and more stick as the dry spell continues but gets some slack because of the effort he puts in Agree with the earlier sentiments though in the thread...doesn't fit Warburton's style of play, can see that from watching 20 minutes of the guy playing so how on earth the manager thought he'd be a good signing is baffling... That's not even taking into consideration the money spent on the guy...
  21. MON was a complete cunt of a guy, obviously we'll never be linked anywhere near the pile of shit but at the end of the day, with the funds we have at the moment, that's the type of football we should be looking to play. Start by making us hard to score against, at the moment not 1 team in that league is scared to come to Ibrox & when we go away to them they're licking their lips at our defence....even Morton on Sunday must think they can get something out of our defense! Have the defenders defend first and foremost, leave the attacking to the 4/5 advanced players. Why not use the players we have to the best of their abilities? Garner would be a good player in the right team with the right setup, he's the kind who needs balls into the box, use his aerial threat and have players around him for the 2nd ball, don't ask him to drop into midfield and take the ball into feet (Done this a lot on Saturday) we've got wingers in the squad, have them bombing down the wings...the amount of times Mckay cuts in is incredible, so predictable. Why play out from the back? It looks great when done well, completely understand, but our players can't do it, they simply aren't good enough! Why have 2 fullbacks bombing on every attack when you know the 2 centre halfs (whatever the pairing) struggle for pace? I'd gladly take us playing 4-5-1, bullying teams with balls in the air, crosses whipped into the box constantly etc..all day, everyday, if it meant we won matches.
  22. Knew it'd be alot of shit when I read "The respected Sky TV pundit"
  23. Aye he struggled in defense, never was a defender and never had the awareness needed but personally i'll still always respect anybody in a Rangers kit who plays out of position for the good of the team and gives it their best. He could've asked to be dropped and sat on the bench, he'd have earned the same amount of money, so respect him for taking one for the team and trying, at that point i'm not sure who else could've played there! What we can't have is people spouting shit to the manager/press/fans saying they can play somewhere they can't, far too many of this current team talk so much shit on social media/papers about how they can do this and that, then make a complete arse of themselves.....if Halliday (using him as an example but others are the same) is telling the press he thinks that position is good for him, he enjoys it etc etc then what is he saying to Warburton behind closed doors?!
  24. The difference between the 2 is I don't believe Lee ever said he was a defender and felt comfortable in that position, he just kept his mouth shut, took the money and played to the best of his ability I believe.... Halliday is different, he's done at least 2 interviews, recent interviews, where he states that he thinks DM is his best position in this team.....it suits his style of play and his attributes.... Unsure by saying "It's my best position in this team" that's him saying he's happy playing there OR he knows that Mckay is a better left sided midfielder/winger but if he's showing some understanding of the position in training (I assume he must be) and he's telling the manager he's happy in that position then Warburton is right to try him there, especially with Barton/Rossiter not being available. Now it's not working clearly it should be changed but the blame is all at Halliday's door. Either try your best for the team to do a job and don't say nothing (like Lee) OR speak up and say you don't feel comfortable there, don't do interviews saying you're happy and comfortable in that position then play as shit as he's been playing!
  25. To add into the discussion...I read somewhere yesterday that we will spend just over 10 million this season on players wages, it's went up a little but not as much as people might expect given some of the players we had in the lower divisions!
