New season formation.

Recommended Posts

All pre-season we've seen Davis in a central role, so i think he'll stick with him there with Novo/Naismith on the right.

McCullochs only in as a stop gap until Thommo gets back to full fitness.

4-3-3 can so easily turn into 4-5-1

walter knows its a 4-5-1

he just uses 4-3-3 as a cover up :craphead:

QC. an awful manager..who drives fans away..you are right..4-5-1..enjoy!!,the old bore will never change.

but at the cost you pay to see this rubbish,"Euro league team",..keep believing..SDM loves you all.

Come on numan, the formation we've been playing has saw us play good stuff. (tu) Beating teams like Man City and PSG won't drive fans away.

 What a tool. Have you actually watched ANY of the games so far in pre-season?

So defensive aye!

In essence we play both formations during the game, 4-3-3 when we have the ball, 4-5-1 when we don't.

The personnel at our disposal in the middle of the park this season has meant our football has changed for the better (no long balls from the keeper to tall frontmen - no sideways midfield passing), but the formation is almost identical to any big game we played last term.

The key for me will be if Walter gets it into his head to play players in their natural positions more, namely Thommo/Edu holding, and the likes of Aaron wide left. Not makeshift CF's being asked to "do a job."

You only have to look at the early promise of the partnership between Mendes and the now comfortable Steven Davis to see the end result.
