TRABZONSPOR'S bid for Kris Boyd collapsed last night - after they failed to get rid of ex-Liverpool star Rigobert Song.

The Turks were desperate to land Rangers goal ace Boyd in a deadline-busting £2million move today.

They were willing to offer the 26-year-old a £50,000-a-week package.

But the move fell through when Trabzonspor were unable to ship out one of their eight allocated foreign players.

A deal to pay off Cameroon defender Song to make way for Boyd failed.

Now they will delay an official bid for the Gers striker until the January transfer window.

Trabzonspor sporting director Unal Karaman said: "Yes, it is true that we tried to buy Kris.

"But because of the high compensation we would've had to pay to terminate another player's contract, we could not do anything at the moment.

"We have had to step back from the deal for now. It is a great pity."

Trabzonspor will face New Year competition for Boyd, whose Ibrox deal is up next summer.

French cracks Monaco, Hertha Berlin of Germany and fellow Turks Kayserispor all keeping tabs on him.
