Exposing blatant double standards isn't paranoia..

The celtic supporters, members of their supporters trust and Caird na h'Eireann have brought shame on themselves, their families and that club with their antics on Sunday. Remembrance Day shouldn't be political, in the first world war thousands of conscripted soldiers from southern Ireland as well as the rest of the UK were killed in a war they never volunteered for, which served no worthwhile cause. 50,000 British troops died every week, and every one of us and them could trace ancestors who fought in that conflict, which was a matter of necessity, not choice. Wearing a poppy and having a minute's silence is not political, but it is that minority of celtic supporters who are trying to make it into a sectarian issue, not us!!

But the real issue here is double standards. By muting the protestors, Sky are effectively saying the behaviour of these tims is more offensive than anything we sing at football matches. And that is true. But here's the thing - Rangers are fined and might even be kicked out of Europe tomorrow for our fans actions, absolutely nothing happens to their fans for their actions!! In the last week Sky highlighted a dozen or so Rangers fans fighting with police in Romania. The result - possible Euro ban. Sky deliberately mute several hundred celtic fans' disrespecting a minutes' silence. The result - no action taken! It is the media coverage of these events that leads to action being taken or not, that is what people must remember.

In the last few weeks we have had in the news celtic fans committing racist murders, child abuse rings involving a celtic boys club, and now celtic fans shaming Scottish football by their actions on Sunday. The 'celtic connection' has been actively covered up - by the BBC removing a picture from one which showed the perpetrator wearing a celtic top, by statements denying a link between celtic.fc and the boys club, and by Sky muting the supporters' chants outside new Brockville on Sunday. Contrast this to karaoke-style lyrics of every allegedly offensive chant ever heard at Ibrox from our fans on the national news every other week. And the ultimate party trick from Spiers, blaming the Rangers fans for the actions of celtic fans at Falkirk on Sunday!

But as usual Rangers FC do nothing to challenge this and even many of our own fans claim it is all 'paranoia.' Well if we are banned from Europe tomorrow it could spell the death knell for the club. And the Sun buying, Clyde-listening, swallow-everything fan will be as much to blame as the "mindless idiots" who fought with the police in Bucharest!

The day we show the same contempt for our fallen heroes that Celtic did then you can call it double standars.

SKY muted the tims because it was a day for remembering, it was a day for silent reflection on what our Grandfathers did for this country, and they weren't about to let a bunch of provo loving lunatics spoil it for everyone else

This has NOTHING to do with us - NOTHING. Trying to score points with it is just...low

Couldnt agree more. Some of the comments on this subject have been frankly shamefull. Even before the crime took place people on here were baying for it to happen so that they could use it to get one up on the other lot
