OvertonBluenose 40
Thank you for your recent e-mail relating to our partnership with the Scottish FA.Grassroots football plays an important role in our local communities. For the last 10 years, McDonalds has proudly supported the development of grassroots youth football in Scotland.Through our Community Partnership with the Scottish FA we have worked with volunteers, coaches, clubs and leagues throughout the country to provide opportunities for children to play football regularly and enjoy their experience. We have developed over 1600 new qualified coaches and supported the delivery of a coaching programme in schools across Scotland for boys and girls. We are now working to support the development of grassroots clubs through the Quality Mark programme. There are thousands of unsung heroes all over Scotland, without whom there would be no grassroots game. A recent survey into the grassroots game highlighted the increasing time and resource pressures that are hampering the development of grassroots clubs. We are committed to supporting their hard work and dedication to youth football in Scotland. McDonalds does not fund or get involved with the elite end of the game or decisions made on the governance of the professional game at any stageThank you for allowing us the opportunity to comment.RegardsNatasha CallisInternet Response TeamMcDonald's Customer Services Department11 - 59 High RoadEast FinchleyLondonN2 8AWTel: 08705 244

Johnny Hubbard 280
Fair response? If McDonalds are plummeting money in to the grass roots side of Football in Scotland then I don't have a problem with thataye and at the same time MacDonalds are filling youngsters mouths with high fat, high salt shite to make a profitIn fact there are moral reasons why these pushers of fattening drugs should not be acceptable to advertise on a sports sponsorshipI can feel a campaign coming onthere are many ways to skin a cat apparently
Gaz52 11,837
That's true as well mate. My point about McDs and pumping money in to grass foots football, grass roots is the future obviously. Think of your own kids if you have any if you have a son who plays a lot of football wouldn't you prefer McDs to be helping his local league out with money?
