Players registrations

With all the talk of the judas scumbags joining or talking to other clubs and Green being of the opinion that the contracts transfer over as the players are considered assets, there's one thing that puzzles me a bit.

With everything that's went on and only the players being of the opinion that their contracts are null and void as nobody has clarified this situation (I think), do we still hold the players registrations to whatever association (cuntSFA, cuntSFL or whatever body), I seem to recall that clubs have stated that when some mercenary player demands that they be allowed to join whatever team the club has responded "player X will never play for team Y because we'll withhold his registration" or something along those lines. Can they just piss off with no repercussions or compensation to us as they are still under contract? Lafferty can go because he's a banger anyway!
