West_Side 1,571 Posted March 6, 2014 Share Posted March 6, 2014 Not sure if it's changed but the UEFA Cup (now Europa league) wasn't worth anything financially until usually post group stage, in fact, in the short term it probably costs the club to compete before the relevant income is paid at the end of the season.I think gate receipts would ensure you make enough money to cover any costs.
