Hopefully someone can help. My current set up is, a modem, wireless router, and laptop. When I connect the modem directly to the laptop, all is fine and im connected to the internet. When, however, I connect it all through the router, it doesnt. Ive even ran an ethernet cable (if thats what its called) from the back of the router to the laptop, but yet still I cant get connected to the net. I guess the problem is with the router (am I right),so how can this be resolved? It seems to all light up in the right places.

Cheers

what type of connection do you have ? cable(virgin) or adsl(bt)

i am guessing it is bt and you have the correct router. you should basically swap the modem for the router, leave it a few mins then check the lights on the top. then do a scan, you should be able to see the make and model of your router.

this is just checking your router works, once established we can move on
