mingledtrout 7
Thought I'd start a new topic to cover all of the upcoming cycling events. Chris Froome will race the Vuelta,I fancy Rodriguez for the win though. Also cav told he can leave team sky if he wants. Who do you guys think will win at the olympics? Has the tour taken to much out of wiggins?

mingledtrout 7
If he feels he needs to be the focal point of a team, much like he was at htc.Cav could become the the most successful stage winner if he gets back to his old ways
caseyjones 3,009
Good man.Wiggins should take the TT. Cancellara, Froome and Martin to fight for the other two medalsThe Road Race will be down to Cavendish's ability to get over Box Hill with sufficient energy left to contest the sprint. He's definitely got the best team behind him.
caseyjones 3,009
Why has Cav been told he can leave?Brailsford said that he would understand if Cav felt that he had to move on to a team which would be tailored to his sprinting ability.
Duncan 23
I can't see Cav leaving just yet to be honest. Think next year will be different!Sky showed they can lead him out just fine and it keeps them out of trouble.

mingledtrout 7
I fancy Cancellara for the gold.He has had more rest time and although wiggins dominated the two TT's,they were after mountain stages, if the first TT was after the flat stages Fab would have won by a mile imo. I can see how people fancy wiggins for it but i still cant see him beating the man from switzerland!Good odds on the 1-2 though.
mingledtrout 7
Cancellara has gone out to 3/1 for the itt and sagan is 6/1 for the road race hoth worth a flutter imo
caseyjones 3,009
Cancellara has gone out to 3/1 for the itt and sagan is 6/1 for the road race hoth worth a flutter imoSagan is a one-man team, mate. Cav will have the British boys, Eisel, Uran and Henao all working for him - maybe even EBH and Nordhaug.
mingledtrout 7
True, i think the course suits sagan more though, it all depends on if cav can ge over the hills.Having said that if he struggles i can see wiggins going for it,Hes not a bad sprinter or could break away, 100/1 though

caseyjones 3,009
Schleck and contadoe to ride in spain! Schleck will be using it as nothing more than training. I doubt that he will be anywhere near fit enough to challenge. Sammy Sanchez is skipping it.
