The draw for the Open pits world number one Tiger Woods with former US Open champion Graeme McDowell and 2010 Open winner South African Louis Oosthuizen. The trio will tee-off at Muirfield at 1445 BST on Thursday and 0944 on Friday.

Two-time Major winner Rory Mcllroy and 2011 Open runner-up Phil Mickelson will play with Japan's Hideki Matsuyama at 0944 in the opening round.

Elsewhere, the reigning US Open and Open champions, Justin Rose and Ernie Els, are drawn with Brandt Snedeker. They will tee-off at 0911 BST on Thursday.

The veteran trio of Tom Watson, Sir Nick Faldo and Fred Couples will begin at 0900 BST. Watson and Faldo have recorded a combined eight victories at the event (five for Watson and three for Faldo).

Only the classiest of Golfers win at Muirfield. Muirfields unique, the first and second nine holes are laid out in a circle this means that off the tee, the wind will come from a different direction at each hole. No two holes will be the same. So rule out the big clunkers like Woods, Bubba Watson, Laird and go for the most accurate of the tee.
