2018 ConiFA World Cup

Recommended Posts

Off to a great start today with Ellan Vanin beating Cascadia 4-1 and Abkhazia beating Tibet 3-0.

I'm rooting for Cascadia as I have friends who live there, but Padania and Abkhazia the favourites.

Other teams to watch are United Koreans of Japan, and Matabeleland.

Wonder if Steve Gerrard is watching........

Any posters on here from any of the participating states, minorities, stateless peoples or regions unaffiliated with FIFA ?

What is this tournament? Heard a snippet on talksport but wasn’t really paying attention.

It's an alternative "World Cup" tournament organise by  states, minorities, stateless peoples and regions who have a national identity, but feel like they are not recognised as or by the country they live in, (ironically the same way I feel about us Protestants and Rangers fans ?). Heard about it on the Radcliffe and Maconie show on radio 6 today. It seems like good fun real grass roots football without all the FIFA hype.
