I think today will give us a good idea of how things will be between now and Jan. Good performance and win, then it's looking like the manager is getting a tune out of Beales duds. Poor performance and win, then it's looking like getting the duds to play is going to take a while longer. Lose, then it'll be a case of searching for small silver linings in big fucking clouds

So we have an international break, get in a new manager who we think will be good. Everything is looking up. Then you see people team selections and it all comes crashing down again. We really have got a poor squad, but I suppose we can at least hope that the manager will turn 3 or 4 of our summer signings into the players we thought we were getting.

I always thought it dated back to shortly after WW1, when each side referred to the other as "The H***" meaning nothing more than the enemy,the other side. Not sure how true that is, but that's how I've always understood it.

I normally look forward to the teams being anounced, if nothing else it means the game is on soon. However today I'm not really bothered. What ever the line up is I'm not likely to be impressed, so hopefully I'll be impressed by the play and the result.

Trapp was a similar age whe he took the Ireland job. Not a great comparrison as an international job is essentially part time. However Magath as a DOF / consultant with a younger manager might be a shout. Dusseldorf just missed the play offs last season and are doing well again. Magath and Thioume, might be a decent partnership.

If we don't act now we haven't a chance. If we can stay within striking distance of them until November, we can then bring in a new manager who can look at the squad and then improve in the Jan window. However if we stay within striking distance of them, then MB is going to be kept on and get the Jan window.
