  1. Seeing Goldson after every goal just makes me want to put my boot through the tv screen - he looks around looking for someone else to blame.
  2. I was wondering that myself. Every single corner, they raise their hands, but every delivery is completely random. Sometimes it won't beat the first man, sometimes it will go out for a throw-in on the far side. I mean, what is the fucking point!!?!
  3. Dunno why people are surprised by everything that's gone on since he took over. Granted, he stepped up - but he was never gonna do much with the dross at his disposal. In his prime, Steven Davis was one of the best midfielders I ever saw - off the ball. I used to take my young son to St. Marys and make him watch only Steven Davis, especially when he didn't have the ball. I'd say, watch him for 10 minutes and see what he does - how he creates the spaces for everyone else. But WITH the ball, he was mediocre and barely played a forwards pass in his whole career - and having him in charge was never going to turn us into 1970s Brazil, given our tendency for somehow getting the ball back to our keeper from a corner!
  4. People forget we managed to attract one of the most sought-after managers in the world at the time and it still didn't work out. Gone after only a few months. Nothing is guaranteed in football. All great managers had to start somewhere and were inexperienced rookies at one point. I wanted Beale, as apparently he's a great coach. Unfortunately that greatness hasn't transferred across to being a great manager - yet. Will it ever??? That remains to be seen. What is certain though, is that of all those other names being bandied about - not one is guaranteed to be a success. That is the nature of football management. It's like a lottery. Good managers get sacked all the time and then someone else snaps them up.
  5. Don't forget about the greatest fuck-up of them all. Allowing Morelos to take that penalty. The quadruple-treble would've been a pipe-dream.
  6. PLG was many peoples' dream appointment, including my own - coveted by many top teams, but we managed to get him... Nothing guarantees success nowadays, but the question is where (and when) do you draw the line?
  7. Dunno, but it seems like we must spend a chunk of time practicing throwing the ball to Tav just so he can take a shite throw-in! Think I saw it about 5 times today. The one time Dessers actually took it, he fucked it up too!
  8. Ditto. If the same 11 walk out for the start of the second half, he needs to go.
  9. This. At home tomorrow, with 50000, there is no excuse for being even remotely negative with his formation. If Lundstram starts, we're playing for 'not getting beat'. Show no mercy to these rodents and rip them a new asshole from the first whistle.
  10. Deary me, that is atrocious! Our footballing IQ is on par with a primary school team.
  11. The composure and ease with which they pass the ball around is lightyears beyond our ability. We are still hanging in there, but we are nowhere near Champions League quality.
  12. I used the BT Sport app on the firestixk and it was flawless.
  13. They have a handful of players who are a level above us, but for the first 60 minutes, we showed them far too much respect and gave them far too much possession and we were happy to sit back. You saw what happened in the last 20 minutes when we went at them - that needs to be our mindset next week. Nothing to lose, nobody is expecting us to beat them. Throw caution to the wind and get right fucking into them.
  14. 1999 - the best (chemically-altered) Summer of my life! Watching that back, we absolutely destroyed them. - could've easily been 6 at half-time. How much for a prime Barry Ferguson or Michael Mols nowadays...
