  3. Possibly me being cynical, but could WS be playing him to get him in the shop window for when the transfer window opens in January? My opinion, I hope he stays.
  4. Reading in the papers today, the Tims are expecting to offload Riordan in January. They paid £150K for him. What are his weekly wages likely be at the moment? Say 10k per week. In 18 months he will have earned in excess of 750K. The Record makes out buying him for £150k and selling him for £500K is a good deal. How can it be if they have lost at least £400k on him? I can see the same thing happening with Killen in the future as well. WTF they need so many strikers for is beyond me.
  5. AM Hutton Cuellar Weir Papac Hemdani Beasley Thomson Ferguson McCulloch JCD Why do fans put Beasley and McCulloch on the wrong flanks? Lee is right footed so put him on the right and Beasley left footed so put him on the left. Am I missing something? Not a critism, just confused.
  6. It seems to me a 4 3 2 1 formation. With the 2 flying forward to support the 1. This creates more chances for our attacking midfielders, Gow, Buffel and even Naismith, Novo, Beasley and McCullock, to play regularly. It means the midfield 3 is made out of Barry, Whittaker, Adam, Thomson and Hemdani. If this formation continues, it may mean we need more actual midfielders. We then have Boyd, JCD and Cousin fighting for the 1 role. Defense is ok. We need cover in the full back slots still.
  7. For all those out there crying out for Tam to be playing, I pose this question. If he was to play, who do you drop and what formation do you play? Play 4 4 2, drop Thomson/Hemdani and have BF play deep, with TB behind the front two? In my opinion he should be sold as he is an expensive luxury player and was/is not consistant enough, even when fully fit.
  8. Does anyone know of a website where it would be shown exactly what players are bought and sold for?
  9. -----------------Carrol------------------ Whittaker--Cuellar--Broadfoot--Papac Burke--Hemdani----Adam-----Beasley -----------Gow-------Boyd------------ It says in todays Record, Webster and Naismith will not be fit in time. It also says Whittaker and Cuellar will be the only starters from the 1st 11. Don't know if Ugo, Nacho, Buffel or Faye will start.
  10. -------------------Carroll Lowing------Ehiogu-----Broadfoot---Papac Burke------Hemdani------Adam-----Gow --------Novo------Boyd Give all the 1st 11 a rest. It's East Fife for fuxsake and our 2nd 11 will be pushing for a position in the starting 11. East Fife may have beaten St Mirren but that is no marker. Our 2nd 11 should be able to beat St Mirren anyway.
  11. Another 3 and our goal difference will be the same as the great unwashed. I can see it being close at the end of the season. I hope not, but I think it will be.
  12. Stuttgart 3 - 1 down to Werder Bremen after 14 minutes.
  13. http://www.tribalfootball.com/article.php?id=55278 Latest on Placente. I would be for this, wages permitting. No harm in having strength in depth.
  14. "Burke could be on his way to Plymouth on a season long loan." Where has this come from? I'm interested as I'm from Plymouth originally and both follow the Gers and the Pilgrims.
  15. Sebo starting for Valenciennes tonight against Lorient. A certain Hamed Namouchi is also playing for Lorient.
  16. I take it my avatar is the one to which most are referring.
  17. I don't dispute we need a quality left back, BUT WS will not buy another one, when we have Stevie Smith, Ian Murray, Sasa Papac and Broadfoot who can also play there. The only one I really rate is Stevie Smith and nobody knows how his injury REALLY is. With the AMC, that is Buffel or Gow. But they will not be used there by WS, because he doesn't play any formation that allows that position to be utilised.
  18. You always tend to get a late flurry of activity when the window closes. As far as I can see, we are only really still short for cover at right back. Whitaker will play right midfield and though he can play full back, WS has said he will play in midfield. Where do you all think we may strengthen the team. Bear in mind, there can't be much left in the kitty.
  19. I can't see WS rotating between Gow and DMB. In matches so far, he has played McCullock on the left and someone else on the right. I think Whitaker will play on the right, with LM on the left.
  20. Before Cousin signed, most Gers fans queried the wisdom of spending 1.2m on Cousin rather than paying a bit more and signing Naismith. Now after a couple of games, most have been pleasantly surprised by what Cousin seems to offer. They may be different types of striker, but who would you prefer now if you had to pick only one?
  21. Saw that one. Fergie looks constipated.
  22. I am trying to find a photo of a newspaper back page from the weekend. Similar to below. I want to save it as an avatar to wind up a mate who is a Caley thistle fan. http://www.caleythistleonline.com/communit...169;type=avatar
