I think LB is a must. No longer impressed with Big Sasa. I know he's popular etc... but to me anyway, he's taken a step backward. He gives players far too much space to get a ball in the box etc.. gets caught drifting inside etc. So a LB and another winger.. and we're good.

I wonder what Niko Jelavic would make of all this? Listen.. we have been lucky to have some very fine men as Managers of our great club. From the Wilton/Struth era to present day. We can debate ad infinitum who was the best, the worst.. but they are all part of our great history. But going back to the original point.. Donald Muir was never 'The enemy within'. It is because of some financial prudence introduced by Muir and co that we can sign players the quality of Niko.

Stats can be made into anything you want. ex: (I'm 99% complete on this project boss.. Boss: So you're 100% incomplete!. I increased sales 100% this quarter. Aye.. from 1 sale to 2.. Hardly magnificent eh? etc. etc. etc. etc.) What makes Walter great is the simple fact that (almost) he himself, has steadied this fine ship. He ensured The Rangers remain -- with dignity intact I might add. A comparison to the great William Struth cannot be done for many reasons. Mr. Struth was -- and remains -- "The Rangers". He might be long gone but his influence is not. It's not all about stats being a Rangers manager... it's also about the man himself. And to that effect, Walter Smith has been a great, great Rangers Manager.

True -- we are happy... Over optimistic about Europe. But Minstral, you need to remember that only last year we were faced with Lloyds potentially conducting a fire sale. Administration looming etc. Bitter reality will always present itself. Folks are allowed to be excited. I know what you are saying -- but Bears are just enjoying themselves at the moment. Hibs away tomorrow... is a tough test. We will win. But we will also see that we are not Barca as well. Haven't bought my CL Final ticket just yet!

5-6 Million to spend. We opt to get 1 very good player & 1-2 pretty good players... A few loan loan deals from the EPL for up and comers. We then rely on our youth when required. (Of course, we sell those that won't feature). Is this a good way forward? (Very limited) Quality over Quantity? This year we will see. But to be honest, I like this model. No point in buying journeymen pros from the SPL. Get 1-2 very good players... Young hungry guys on loan from the EPL mixed with our existing experience and youth. CL is obviously the key here... A bare bones approach and risky though... but with The Rangers finances.. is this the only way to compete?

Donald Muir was a necessary 'evil'. The enemy within? Don't make me laugh. Probably coined by the same arseholes that want Sir David's head. We are in far better shape -- on the pitch as well -- than we have been in years thanks to Mr. Muir and co.

Just watched this again. He's going to tear the SPL apart. Notice how many goals that Niko scores that he starts. Holds the ball up.. brings the winger into play - then heads straight into the box and voila.. finishes. But it doesn't seem to matter. As I said.. inside/outside, left, right foot. Head... Big fella as well. To compare Boyd to him is a joke tbh. What comparison is there? None. After saying all that, let's hope he does the biz for The Champions. (100% certain he will imho)

A few points... (If I may) lol We have players that know how to win... A great 'core'. You build a championship team from the back. We have -- and see #1 Managerial Strength. Modern day Football requires technical 'nous'. In the SPL we have it... In Europe we also have 'it'. (Qualifier... Yes, UEFA CUP followed by less than adequate performances.. but then again. The 1st British club to compete in a European Cup? 1961 vs Fiorentina.) Link Point is... we have strengthened -- they have not. We all 'wished' for lemon to get the job.
