  1. John Greig comes to mind as well... A lot of players would stay for less money, especially those who grew up supporting the club. Those are the type of players we want at Rangers. The flavours of the week can f*ck off. Look at the likes of Miller, Boyd and Ferguson. They've done bugger all since they left Scotland. I wouldn't be too worried lads, there will always be a Rangers FC.
  2. Rangers weren't making an impending drop to 3rd division is my point.
  3. Could you imagine someone like Ally or the late great Jim Baxter doing that sort of thing? No, you couldn't, cause they loved this club. It wasn't just a way to earn a paycheque. It was an honour to them to put on that light blue top.
  4. We don't do walking away, except for McCabe (who supports Septic), Naismith (who hasn't got the right attitude to be putting on the Rangers top to begin with), Whittaker (who is piss poor, let's be honest). All but Davis and McGregor can fuck off. Those two lads just need a proper talking to or a cuff behind the ear.
  5. HMRC can wipe the history books so we never won the European Cup in 1972 or 9 in a row?
  6. Agreed. Rangers FC aren't the players or the league they play in. We're 140 years of history, and Newco or not, there's nothing that can erase that.
  7. Can't really blame McGregor or Davis. Quality players spending time in Div 3, while teams like Liverpool or Man City call on them. United were sniffing around at our keeper a couple of seasons ago and he stayed. That was loyalty. I love Rangers, but I can't imagine supporters being surprised at star players not wanting to play the likes of Clyde or Stirling Albion making 500 quid a week. Go on and call me a Taig if you wish, but I think if you give it any thought, you'd realize it's the honest truth.
  8. Either way, I didn't see it posted in this thread. Great news if it happens.
  9. I've been refreshing the Sun for the past 5 minutes. It was JUST posted.
  10. Just posted on the Scottish Sun: An announcement is expected today — 88 days since the stricken Glasgow giants plunged into administration. As Green prepared to take over from owner Craig Whyte a source said: “It was a long time coming.” The ex-Sheffield United chief executive and his wealthy backers have struck a deal to buy the stricken club from Craig Whyte for a pound. 11. It'll take them another decade to equal our record of 54, so they can take a walk.
  12. Scavengers, can fuck off. I bet it was well below his wage rate too.
  13. There's also the matter of GD. I support Rangers, but you lot are living on lollipops and crisps.
  14. 18 points back after today's win. 4 games left? Do the math.
  15. Piss poor results aside, the bright spot I can see is our gd, which is +30 over Well. Septic now poised to win the title at Ibrox makes me nauseous.
  16. More of a shame given the Sheepshaggers draw to the scums. Could've at least made it interesting. Not even worried about cups anymore, since they've none to play for. I'll be heartbroken if Well catch us down the stretch. Hard to avoid thinking conspiracy at this point.
  17. I consider myself a supporter of both clubs (although a minor supporter of Arsenal) and this is gut wrenching. CW fucking about with 100 years of history. I'm quite literally disgusted to read this. Yahoo UK has put it on their front page for anyone wanting to read: http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/22022012/58/spl-whyte-sells-historic-arsenal-shares.html The tiny but symbolic stake stemmed from support offered by the Glasgow club to Arsenal when they fell on hard times early in the 20th century. Rangers purchased two shares in Woolwich Arsenal, as the club were known then, to assist the London club in 1910. Around 20 years later Arsenal recognised the kindness of the Glasgow giants by giving them a further 14 shares, establishing a close relationship between the two clubs. Rangers are now facing their own financial crisis, having gone into administration last week over unpaid taxes and with a potentially ruinous second tax bill hanging over them. Usmanov bought the 16 shares last year through the market, a source close to the businessman said on Wednesday. The Daily Record report that the deal was worth around £230,000. Rangers legend John Greig said that ending 102 years of history was a terrible decision by Whyte. http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/22022012/58/spl-whyte-sells-historic-arsenal-shares.html
  18. Would love a program from the Hearts match as well, but live in Canada. Any chance fellow bear could post one in the mail for me as well?
  19. I don't think either are blameless. If Whyte had done due diligence it would've been clear the club was heading down the wrong path. This isn't to debate who knew what or what was known, I'll leave that to the administrators to sort out. My point in starting this petition is that supporters were lied to, money has vanished and proper precautions weren't taken into account to ensure this club stayed above water and out of financial trouble. The damage done by Murray was brought on by spending of money that didn't he didn't have and that's fraud. Allowing him to retain his knighthood is a black mark on such a prestigious honour.
  20. I've spoken to support on the petition site, the signature goal will update itself and is not limited only to 100 signatures. I'd like to be realistic here and have set it to 10,000. That's a 5th of the capacity of Ibrox. Surely there are enough supporters to achieve this goal!
