  1. exactly, the quote from Le Guen after the motherwell game that stood out for me was when he said that "it depends on my situation".
  2. Whether or not people rate him as a player surely they can see he has been our best player this season. As the guys on Clyde 1 say (and they will speak to a lot of the scottish players), they just cannot see what barry ferguson had done to deserve the treatment he got. ok Le Guen may not have liked barry shouting at players. He should have had a quiet word (from the sounds of it he didn't have a quiet word). Look at players like Rooney. I'm sure some of his antics annoy ferguson and england managers (sendings off etc) but you have a quiet word and try to stop whatever the player is doing wrong. we3ll since the guys at Clyde 1 were phoned by wee greetin face at 2.30 p.m. to give his side of the story it's no wonder they back him. A disgraceful action by a captain of Rangers, and in that moment he lost all of my respect. A disgraceful action???? is that not a bit strong for simpl phoning someone he knows well. Someone even suggested that Peter Martin was at Murray Park when Ferguson left so Fergie never even phoned them. The only person he phoned was Iain King, biographer and close friend. Plus the story was obviously going to be front page news when the team was named at Firpark. So what is the big deal?? Its not as if there was something said in the dressing room that Le Guen wanted kept private and Ferguson went straight to the press!!! Ferguson had just been told he would never play for Rangers again! Disgraceful actions.....i don't see how you can say that. Hitting your wife is a disgraceful action. Peter Martin was on the moon - there i have suggested something does it make it right ? No Peter martin said on Radio Clyde on Tuesday 2nd january at about 2.20p.m. that Barry had phoned him at 2.30p.m. It was clear, it was unequivocable. Just out the gates at murray park and he's running greeting to the media. Yeah how right you are. Lets send Ferguson to Iraq and get him hung!!!!!! What a shocker that is!!! Just in case people don't realise (its happened before), i'm being sarcastic....
  3. Exactly.... Have you got any examples of Fergie running to the press??? The importance of captaincy issue first arose from a comment be Le Guen and Ferguson responded to questions about what Le Guen had said. Ferguson being stripped of the captaincy - he phoned Iain King etc who was his biographer and friend. However this was not something the club wanted to keep quiet.....everyone was going to find out he had been dropped when the team wa named at Firpark. Read what Iain King (Fergie's biographer surprise surprise) said or Peter Martin. Fergie phoned Iain King at the Sun at 0245...30 mins after his meeting with PLG. yeah and i said in my original reply that Iain King was his BIOGRAPHER AND CLOSE FRIEND. plus this story was going to get out eventually when the team was named!!!!! What i asked in my previous response was to give me other examples of ferguson running to the press??????? Ferguson is 28 and been at rangers for his entire career (minus 2 years) yet i cannot think of any examples??? So basically the response that ferguson is a disgrace to the captaincy of rangers because he continually runs to the press behind rangers back is an utter load of rubbish.......spouted by people who simply just don't like ferguson. So any examples??????? The captaincy issue a few weeks ago - the |Ferguison's leaked their reaction the press Monday - Ferguson phones Peter Martin at 2.30 p.m. Fergusonj phones Iain King at 2.45 p.m. He undermines the club by sneaking behind their back to release his version of things. Ferguson a disgrace to the Rangers greats Yeah and those 2 examples are the two i identified in my original response and defended Fergies reaction.....please read my original post. Importance of captaincy.....so he leaked it eh? I listened to Clyde 1 on the day of the old firm game and peter martin said ferguson was asked if Le guen had spoken to him about the importance of the captaincy.Ferguson said no. This doesnt sound like leaking to me!!! If thats the case Le Guen can be accused of leaking information to the press every time he goes into a press conference!!! So apart from those 2 invalid examples you have previously named....any others???????????????? i didnt think so

  6. yes But would he sit on the bench? yeah he would be likely to demand a transfer if kept on the bench for an extended period of time. Celtic seem to have a decent bench these days so it must be possible to keep these players happy......maybe its a winning team.....something we don't have at the moment....

  8. i'd like to see a first choice midfield of Ferguson (Captain), Clement & Brown with a winger. And Svensson and Webster given a shot in defence. Hemdani while a good player isn't quite solid enough to be a defender in Scotland and can't grab a game by the scruff of the neck like the other 3 midfielders i mention can. i'd like to see him stay though, we need a good squad not just 11 players.
  9. From what we've heard, how do you that Ferguson has such a big say in the goings on at Rangers?????? We don't know the facts and everything we've heard points to the fact that Ferguson's only crime was to drop too deep for the ball and have a go at players for not performing. Ferguson being stripped of the captaincy may well be a side issue in Le Guen leaving. We just don't know what was said in the meeting with Murray and Le Guen.
  10. So Fergie didn't do what he was told on the pitch? - From what i've heard the only thing Le Guen really said was that Ferguson undermined him. At no time did he give examples of the behaviour. Ok he dropped deep to get the ball......does this mean fergie deserved to be told you will never play for the club again??? Squealling to the press?? The people he phoned were mates. Iain King was his biographer and good friends with Ferguson. Anyway its not as if he was leaking a story that the club wanted to be kept quiet.....the fans were going to find out he was dropped when the team at Firpark was named. So Ferguson says jump off a cliff and all the players will yeah??? 21 players went on the night out, if it was such an issue i'm sure some of the players would have stayed away. At what point has Ferguson said he is bigger than the club??????? Load of rubbish spouted by people that just don't like Ferguson.
  11. blah blah blah!!! you can do anything you want with stats ie. our worst result under Le Guen came when Gavin Rae was captain and Barry Ferguson wasn't playing.
  12. 13. yeah i totally agree with you mate, it is unfair to blame fergie!! you talk so much sense, you are a legend!!!
  14. Given the facts so far i am very surprised to read comments like Barry should never wear the rangers jersey again. What we know so far: - Barry's bro suggested that at no stage did Le Guen give any idea he was going to strip barry of the captaincy. Its crazy that manager and captain did not sit down together and talk it through privately. - When Le Guen was asked to identify specific behaviour from Fergie that undermined him he declined. This suggests, as derek ferguson said, that it was just a case of Fergie giving other players a rollocking if they weren't giving 100%. Hardly crime of the century and certainly something that could have been ironed out privately. - Billy Dodds said Fergie was told it was simply a personality clash and he'd never play for rangers again under Le Guen. Incredible!!! - Gavin Rae said he had never seen Fergie undermine Le Guen. - David Murray would surely not let someone he chased for so long leave by mutual consent just because he fell out with one player. David Murray is a very intelligent guy and history shows he lets the manager call the shots. ie. he isn't a Romanov. - Kris Boyd clearly supported Fergie with his gesture after he scored on tuesday. Le Guen had possibly lost the dressing room. Indeed David Tanner said on Sky Sports that several rangers players were happy to hear that Le Guen had been sacked while they were at Yorkhill Hospital. I hope Murray and Ferguson come out and clear the whole story up.
  15. After looking at Strachan's and Lennon's reactions to the incident against Falkirk, i'm just glad that i can't imagine anyone at Rangers acting like that. Ferguson & PLG (and Mcleish before him) have much more class than those two. Pity McNamara left, i actually had some respect for that guy. and before strachan was on the scene, they had O'Neill......enough said! Proud to be a Bear.
  16. Sorry the referee last season was Stuart Dougal. Found a quote after the hearing last season: As well as his manager Strachan, Lennon was represented at the hearing by lawyer Rod McKenzie and Fraser Wishart, secretary of the Scottish Professional Footballers' Association. Wishart believes the verdict was a fair one, based on Lennon's record of only one previous dismissal in Scottish football which came in the CIS Insurance Cup Final of 2003. "One of the factors was that Neil had never been sent off in an SPL fixture before or been over the disciplinary points threshold," said Wishart. "His previous record was taken into consideration and Neil just wants to put this incident behind him now. The committee took a long time to find Neil guilty of misconduct and then a long time to decide on his punishment and I feel they handled the case properly." There was no comment from the SFA, other than an official statement delivered by their head of communications Andy Mitchell. He said: "The SFA disciplinary committee today gave a three match ban to the Celtic player Neil Lennon for misconduct of a significantly serious nature in the recent Scottish Premierleague match between Rangers and Celtic. The player appeared personally before the committee who considered that the ban was appropriate in view of the serious nature of the offence. The ban applies to all football with immediate effect."
  17. Last season Lennon only got a few games for his disgracefully bad behaviour at Ibrox towards Kenny Clark (i think). Apparently due to his good disciplinery record.....which was only down to him getting away with far too much for years. ie. kicking lovenkrands, spitting on a rangers scarf, pushing numerous players, calling McLeish a dirty orange cheat. The list goes on. Finally a referee has had the balls to send him off for agressive behaviour....the like of which Gazza or Ricksen would never have got away with. His reaction towards the linesman after he was sent off was shocking and reminded me of last season at Ibrox. The League Association can't use a good disciplinery record this time round to reduce the ban....i say at least 5 games.
