  1. I would love to see mcfadden at ibrox, he's proven big game player and as I have said before about Healy, big game strikers are essential for us. However........my sensible head thinks £3.5M would be better used on 2 players, hopefully a centre back with a few less miles on the clock than weir, who can command in the air. If we could get one for £2M ish and then get Healy too, I would be happier. After watching yesterdays performance, I am also confident that Naismith can be the next McFadden.
  2. yeah I know what you mean. I think rangers strikers need that especially in old firm games. Rememeber how Tore andre Flo would go into his shell for derby games? I'm thinking the bigger the game, the bigger Healy performs. I think he cost Fulham £1.5m and we could expect to make that much from selling surplus players this xmas. I know some say save it for summer, but a mid season newcomer can liven things up.
  3. cheers pal, sorry still getting used to the forum. ta
  4. now sanchez has left fulham, will david healy be unsettled because he was definitley a sanchez player. If so should we go for him? I would like to see him at ibrox. Possibly with a target/creative forward added too to make four squad strikers with Healy,Boyd,Novo. Not bothered about JCD and Cousin (contreversial)
  5. haha quality manticore..............................can a nick it pal??
  6. a wee bit off topic....does anyone think kenny miller did not fufill his promise at rangers because he was too young to be in a very competitive title race at a time when MON was turning celtic around? I think rangers are the improving old firm team now and if we bring youngsters in they might get with the momentum and come up to scratch quicker.
  7. With all due respect, Everton had nothing to lose We are in a two way battle with our fiercest rivals for the SPL, it may well come down to one point Not the time to be experimental I hear what you are saying and agree to a certain extent, but we have to pick and choose what games our youngsters will feature in carefully Totally agree with your second sentance England had the euro 2006 to lose..................................and I think they might have won it had rooney not got injured. Lets take a gamble - get him in ................ IF he is good enough! I have not seen him play.
  8. I saw this funny card a few years ago but can't find it on the internet anywhere. I would like to email it at this time of year to my sellik supporting 'friends' anyone know it? picture of turkeys in the farmyard waiting to be eaten with the slogan - this xmas, I'd rather be a turkey than a tim!
  9. they said about rooney " If he's good enough - he's old enough! I hope that John Fleck gets in the team and has a great career.
  10. I think boyd and mccoist are very similar. If we can find the equivilant of mark hateley - say Peter Crouch for instance - to partner him, boyd would be spl top scorer by a mile. I belive given 30 mins against Lyon he would have got a chance or 2 and probably nicked a goal.
  11. I think they are both good GK but Gordon has an edge. No way he was worth £9M - but thats not upto him is it. The thing to remeber is neither are finished articles, both are years away from their peak (34ish?) and will learn a lot. McGregor has learnt a lot already this year in the champions league, which maybe gives him an advantage over Gordon which could see him overtake one day. It's just great to see a Scot keeping goal for the Gers on merit when in recent times it's been Klos,Christiansen,Myrhe,Leitzi,Chabonnier etc.etc.
  12. well said. Long gone are the days of Bertie Vogts - well done to Walter and Coisty for getting the turnaround under way, and Big Eck for a tremendous effort this time. Does anyone now if the success of this qualifying campaign will count towards Scotland getting an easier group for World Cup 2010 qualifying?
  13. Nice one CR - like the voice over too - "BBBBBBBBAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!" dissapointed now though - especially with England getting off the hook!
