  1. Theoretically no there wasn't. However we didn't have any financial problems when Advocaat demanded the money from Murray. (We did but it was hidden well by Murray) When McCoist chose his path of spending big money on average players he knew we had problems with money. He is also the one who will have told his Chairmen what we needed to pay them to get them to sign with us. McCoist is just as much to blame for our present financial problems as any Chairman. As witnessed by his gardening leave and his nice monthly wage when he knew we had no money.
  2. I still find that utterly astonishing that we could let a young talent leave under those circumstances. However i think his mind was made up when McCoist promised the young lads games after the league was won then renaged on his promise. I still can't get my head round how so many still defend him after that. 3 years down the drain and god knows how many more to rectify the mess he has left us.
  3. Matt McKay Arnold Peralta Seb Faure All have slaughtered the useless inept grudge holding gardener. And it's all very well slaughtering Peralta. But who bought a defensive midfielder of International standard then either played him at right back or right midfield??
  4. Interesting bud. And given your "involvement" in football a lot of that makes perfect sense. Bottom line is the player wanting to stay or go. If we do a Telfer we will lose him but if he is to be in integral part of our team it may sway him in to staying for a few more years.
  5. Advocaat was good for the first year or so. Instilled discipline and a winning mentality in to the players. Downside was he had his faults in man management and in his tactics during certain games. Plus he bullied Murray in to spending money we couldn't afford. Advocaat knew this and put pressure on Murray to come up with the goods. Murray didn't want to back down as the sun shone out his arse in the beginning. He may have a decent record of success but he barely lasts more than a few years at any club or team.
  6. Usual apologists sticking up for the usual outlets. All buddies together. Guy gets hounded and stitched up. Then posts a photo of himself inside Ibrox and no one decides to do some digging first before releasing the story. Wouldn't matter a jot if they waited a week or four weeks if the story was accurate. It wasn't. They rushed it out to do damage to Rangers and when it backfires people are defending them. Not unexpected from the new age fans.
  7. How do you motivate a player when he knows he is coming to the end of his time as a Rangers player. 13 players are out of contract and the majority are the duds we speak about week after week. Some are not good enough, some are finished and some just can't be arsed. I sense that the majority of them want out as they can't handle the pressure of playing for Rangers. And some know they won't be offered a new deal so it's about not getting a serious injury. McColl has been put in a very awkward situation by the board. By only giving him the job till the end of the season he has no say in who stays or who goes. He has no carrot to dangle or incentives he can cajole them with. He has to hope that some of the Newcastle lads get fit and that our young players hit form. A very very tall order i'm afraid.
  8. You can't polish a turd...or turds. This squad's self belief has gone. They now go out expecting to struggle and they do. They have now been shown up as the very average players they really are. A big wage doesn't equate to big talent. McColl has been given an impossible job. All i want to see between now and the end of the season is the end of the line for players like McCulloch, Boyd, Miller, Black, Law, Simonsen etc. I will be happy to see the best youngsters being given sustained game time to try and salvage what we can from a disastrous season.
  9. To then see a club from down south trump our offer and take him for nothing. This is the eternal problem we have and will have with any decent emerging talent. We can only hope that he is happy with whatever is offered and doesn't get a mind blowing offer elsewhere. Luckily he has only played 2 games and scouts may not have noticed him yet. So if he is out of contract in May it's imperative we get him tied down asap.
  10. Perhaps now the penny will drop that Dave King and Paul Murray are not as popular as their fans made them out to be. And since taking over they haven't exactly come out all guns blazing trying to invigorate the fans. Putting all that aside though. You can have the stadium, the board, the money but if you don't have a team you don't have fans. Fans want to be entertained. They want to see some skill, they want to see football and above all they want to see Rangers winning. I have said consistently that i cannot see a way out of this mess regardless of who won the takeover battle. Ashley had the money but didn't give a shit whether we won or not. King doesn't have the money required to get us back to where we need to be. I am not going to press the panic button just yet but the signs are not good on and off the park.
  11. Defending the Record. Why am I not surprised. Any doubt in a story you don't run it for fear of litigation.
  12. Have you even read the fall out and know what has happened here. Because that reply sure as hell tells me you don't. He wasn't at the game full stop. He wasn't beside the "UVF" banner. "WE DON'T NEED IT PROVED" Jesus H Christ..you're happy for stories to be run about us and don't care if they can be proved or not. Over and out.
  13. Your replies form my reply to you. You're happy to criticise the Rangers fan and not the paper. Who were only too happy to run with a story harming Rangers because it suits their agenda. They gleefully ran with it without checking basic facts simply because it was anti Rangers. The same paper Paul Murray thanked for their courageous journalism. The fact you don't see it that way tells me all i need to know.
  14. I now think a large chunk of the fans are gone for good. Or until something big happens like Souness coming in 86. Too many cannot see that todays football and society is night and day from say 20 or 30 years ago. Other sports are fighting for participants and fans. Football simply thinks the fans will turn up regardless. As for Rangers...the football is the worst many of us have ever witnessed. And i'm sorry but many fans simply will not pay the money to watch utter shite week after week. There are far more demands on fans money and time and if we want to get them back we have to fight for them. Scottish Football as a whole has to change as well as Rangers. Summer football Reduced ticketing prices Safe standing areas Re-introduction of alcohol (under strict observation and rules obviously) Rescinding of offensive behaviour act and less nanny state policing of naughty words and songs. Better standard of player (which will take time) That's just a few off the top of my head. You won't get back to the halcyon days thanks to TV but we can definitely get more back if we make the effort
  15. It will be one winger. Our midfield was over run by fecking Livingston on Saturday because we played with two wide men. I think it will be tighter in the middle as a result.
  16. Quelle surprise the ostrich loyal prefer to criticise the Rangers fan not the Rebel. Friends like this who needs enemies.
  17. I think at most there will be 3 or 4 changes. 2 he is forced to make with Vuckic and Faure out injured. He isn't going to make wholesale changes in his 1st or 2nd game. He will assess each position and look to see what can be improved with what he has at his disposal. And with a dearth of choices in defence i am not expecting to see many changes at the back. Only one looks to be Bell returning from injury going by his comments in the media. Most managers go with the train of thought that experience is crucial in the defence. Midfield and up front they can be a bit more adventurous. So is it going to be Templeton for Vuckic and Sinnamon or McGregor at RB. I have a feeling Black will return tonight and Hutton will be dropped. I just can't see him dropping Law having worked closely with him at Motherwell. One other change may be up front with Shiels maybe looked at in place of Clark.
  18. But but but the new board will bring the fans flooding back. All the boycotters who stayed away did so because of the spivs.....
  19. Once again the bigger picture eludes the ostrich loyal.
  20. Yawn yawn yawn...defending the indefensible. You carry on. And typing indignantly on a football forum....shows how little you know.
  21. Those trying to defend him and look for something in his tweet that isn't there. The fact he deleted it and offered no apology or explanation tells its own story.
  22. A point his tweet does raise....how many United fans were arrested for singing it? If none why? And if arrested will they be charged and sentenced to 4 months in jail?
  23. And deserves his jotters which is the least he deserves....then it's big bad Rangers fans can't take a joke. These cunts are at it and they know exactly whay they are doing. And their job is made easy when you see some of the utter shite written in their defence by the cowards in our support.
  24. That's a different issue from the point he makes in his tweet though.
  25. His next tweet will be along the lines of "Rangers fans have no sense of humour" etc etc
