Predictable, boring and robotic. Bealeball. Long season ahead and so far just as boring if not worse than Gio's as I think we've got more energy in the team now than Gio did but still seems like we don't take risks or practice scoring in training.

Sorry I wasn't meaning that Gerrard was some sort of Messiah. Just more pointing to him being a leader type that I do believe our players responded to albeit we no doubt shat it more often than not. I just don't see Beale being able to lead us to a title win as I don't think he has the leadership skills needed to do it.

He's really done nothing in football to suggest he deserves the managers job at our club other than talking a good game. He might have been the brains as a coach behind Gerrard but I think it's clear Gerrard was the one driving standards and effort. We need a leader with a clear message, vision and way of playing that works domestically. Even with our full squad fit I honestly don't know what our best team is or where the balance comes from and I worry Beale is in exactly the same position. He's signed all similar type players to suit a narrow system that quite frankly is boring as fuck and easy for teams to park the bus against. We need width, pace, runners from deep and overloading the box. Not passing about side to side waiting for something to happen. I hope to fuck he knows what he's doing and it's just getting things to click but I really do worry he's talked a good game and can't deliver. He doesn't have time to get it right as they cunts won't drop many points as they are ruthless domestically so he needs it sorted asap.

It's all new but the same style and shite we're watching. If you told me that was a recording of last season I would believe you. Can't keep adding new bodies and watching the same shite without blaming the coach in charge. It's the same shite for basically 5 years. Pass us to tears then cross to no cunt. The style and tactics are the problem. How many more years of Tav and Borna whipping balls into an empty box when we're 1-0 down losing all our records in the process do we need to watch before people see it. Since I've been locked out from Follow Follow can someone else ask them to ask Beale when we and the Board will start seeing something that represents progress on the pitch in response to the investment. Because it's the same philosophy behind it all. Beale was the brains behind Gerrard, Gio was similar and now Beale is back.

At least we all know Bisgrove and Bennett are proactive.

Beale isn't going to last and I just hope we don't want until it's too late like we did with Gio. I'm optimistic about the squad just not the tactics or manager.

So true and this is what we'll get all season. We need a manager to rip that shite up and put his stamp on a new style. Beale clearly hasn't and his stamp is over our style the last 5 years. Hardly been a winning style.

Beale is a coach or director of football isn't he? Long enough to get a system in place with a pre season and he's not done that.

Some better stuff in the second with a few changes. Hopefully things start to click but that defence needs sorted.

I think the truth between both you and the other posters points sit somewhere in between. We'll take a while to get going of course but I'd have expected to see something resembling a decent performance and patterns of play to get excited about by now. Long way to go so I'm still optimistic but we need to click soon and show something positive.

We've been too slow in our build up for years. It's a part of this possession based football Beale tries to implement and was similar under Gerrard.

Been a long time since I've played FM but yeah pretty much 😅. Psychology must play a part as getting ripped apart most of pre season surely doesn't build confidence. Maybe fitness but need a balance there which I don't think we have.

That's my biggest worry. Looks like the same style and lack of creativity as before so far. Need to click soon.

I just don't think we're creating anything at all and the defence is weak as ever. Glad we've picked tough games to test ourselves as it'll hopefully benefit us going forward but really think we've missed a trick not doing a game against a lesser team at Ibrox to let the players score some goals and build confidence.

Absolutely no evidence so far this pre season that Beale has worked on anything worthwhile that will take us up a level. Lot of new players that need time so not overly worried just yet but if you'd told me this was just a recording of a match last season I'd believe you as they new plays just replacing the empty jerseys of last year. No urgency, movement, no good play or patters and shite defending.
