  1. I don't think it's praise to be honest. We haven't seen enough of him to praise him but I think people are just genuinely keen to see what he can offer after nearly 4 years of Davis being the sole midfield creator in our team and limited holding players like Lee McCulloch stiffling our team. If he is obviously a "decent player", why didn't he make the bench on saturday? McCulloch and Ortiz made it despite been given decent game time season and have continually coming up short
  2. Ok then...Robbie Kruse of Fortuna Dusseldorf ( I think?), Luke Wilkshire plays for one of the Moscow sides, Brett Hollman plays for a decent AZ side (currently top in the Dutch League)
  3. I hear what your saying but they have players of a decent enough standard. There's 3/4 guys playing in the Dutch league and a few scattered around Europe. Either way I'm positive that he would be more valuable to the team than McCulloch or Papac playing out of position
  4. I find the bit about him being awful in training hard to swallow TBH. He's just won the Australian POTY Award ahead of some decent players.
  5. Based on what? How many games have you actually seen him play? Like all players, I would prefer too judge him fully when I have seen him play a run of games in their correct position and not as part of our on going feeked up "crow barring any player into any position" project. I've seen enough of McKay to suggest that he could do a decent job for Rangers. He's neat and secure on the ball and likes to play the ball on the floor.
  6. I think people are more concerned that he can't get a game when we are clealry struggling in midfield and players like McCulloch and Papac get the nod ahead of him.
  7. I agree with this. The fact that he could not get a game when we struggling in the middle is a big concern. And how McCulloch gets in before him baffles me. For me it is no coincidence that Edu looked better when McCulloch wasn't in there "beside" him
  8. Agree mate. Man Utd won the EPL 3 times on the bounce with Rooney up front on his own for many of the games and even then he isn't even a conventional striker. I think the key lies in having 4/5 of the midfield to front players being able to create and also do some damage.
  9. The fact that you said that makes me think if it was inteneded to be a 4-5-1 it then it was successful. Surely the point of a good 4-5-1 is the ability to turn it into an attacking formation very quickly
  10. It's the 4-5-1 system that is the problem, it's the personel thats adopted to play it. For example, you simply cannot expect a positive outcome with this system if you start with Edu, McCulloch and Papac in the midfield. You need pace, width and adaptibility among at least 4 of the 5 being asked to play this way
  11. Sorry is it Gary Speeds funeral at Ibrox tomorrow? If people want to applaud to pay respects to the guys career and life I don't see a problem with that if that is the agreed method of respect. Try seeing beyond what Celtic do FFS. Loads of team do this and have done it before them
  12. You don't consider a battle about religion in which normal people lost their lives for the gain of Royal houses dark?
  13. My god. If people want to pay their respects, who are you to dictate it? I don't give a feek about Celtic and th reasons why they do it. That's their problem but are you honestly suggesting that 25,000 Swansea fans were disrescpectful by doing a minutes applause for a fellow Welsh man? A minutes silence or a minutes applause are both paying respects. Stop making it an OF issue
  14. This with feeking bells on. Instead of remixing a song from the dark ages why not put your energies into a song that pays tribute to the great players and managers that have shaped Rangers....the Football Club? Cue....."it's oor cultchar"... shit
  15. What? You guys really to get a life TBH. Timfoolery? What other Timfollery did I agree with? Just for a laugh Many people/clubs around the world adopted the minutes appaluse before Celtic did it. Do you consider it disrespectful?
  16. -------McGregor------- ----Goian----Perry---- McMillan--------Whitty ---Edu-------McKay---- -------Davis---------- Aluko------------Wylde -------Jelavic-------- 4-3-3 with Davis in the hole supporting the forwards
  17. Probably short notice but I think a minutes silence or a minutes applause would be very respectful considering he didn't have any direct connection with Rangers.
  18. You typed that 3 times mate. Good for you. I see you didn't actually answer the question...
  19. Not you as well? Get some new patter FFS As for Salmond...remind of the alternatives and what was there before? Iain Grey, Jim Murphy of New Labour. A party that had power in Scotland for nearly 50 years and did zilch for this country
  20. He's no lover of Royalty....? You say that as if I've started a club with only one member. Plenty of people share my views on monarchy mate
  21. I don't object mate. I just don't care. You get the impression that some people feel that Walter needs to validate what he did for Rangers. Walter is a Rangers legend and always will be for what he done over his 2 periods at the club. A knightwood wouldn't alter that one bit. If he is to be decorated why don't the club do something? That would be more fitting than sharing a platform with Stirling Moss and the like
  22. Why are people hung up about Walter getting a knighthood? We know what he did for our club and that should be enough. Who cares if he gets a outdated bauble from the Queen. The list above just emphasises how stupid it is. We will always herald Walter as a Ranger legend regardless of whether he gets a knighthood

  24. Kool and the gang mate. McCullochs just a touchy subject with me TBH. I didn't want him to sign back in the day as it was a surefire sign that we were going to adopt the tactic of the long diagonal ball to the back post that Walter used with McCulloch when he was the Scotland boss. I just hate watching that type of football. Latterly I still do not know how the feek McCulloch has manufactured this holding role or anchor man midfielder. To me he is just a slow liability that cannot tackle.
