  1. Hear hear! Leave the pitchfork and torches outside the SFA HQ to Paranoid FC
  2. Cheers. I think Van Persie playing off a guy like big Jelavic would be great for Arsenal. As I've said before I think they've need a big strong CF for years. Instead they've feeked around with pretenders like Chamac and Bendtner who are weak was water and are too flowery for the EPL in my opinion.
  3. I wouldn't really call Robin Van Persie is a strong centre forward. He's more a striker/wide player that happens to have a free role
  4. I don't really want us to go down road that leads to confrontation with the idiots at the SFA to be honest. We need to just accept this, keep our focus and get on with winning on the pitch. Much of the Mhanks problems on the pitch over the last few years have been down to them losing their focus due to silly off the field nonsense and we cannot afford to do that over something like this
  5. Easier siad than done IMO. Any players coming here in Jan will have to hit the ground running. It's hard enough to adapt to the SPL if you come in the summer therefore I'd be wary of instant pay back on players coming in half through the season
  6. Of course he dived. Anyone with a pair of eyes can see that but this is about different applications of the post match judical system. If O'Connor and any other player that dives got the same then Aluko deserves his 2 match ban but that has not been the case here
  7. Drop him? For who? A half hearted Jelavic is still better than anything else we have TBH
  8. "If that had happpened..." Is is true that the people at Paranoid Park copyrighted this phrase and use it as their official motto?
  9. I'm not sure TBH. When on form, he is definately a top class player and would do better with better and a better system ie. not long punts up the park. I think if you give him the right supply and his confidence is up he would do well at a big club. He's the sort of player Arsenal have needed for years IMO. A strong centre forward with enough skill to fit into their passing and move play
  10. I think the question would then be...would you trust Ally with £10 million?
  11. Are you sure? I read many post on here (including my own) raising certain concerns about our team. The 12 pt lead was a smokescreen IMO. Apart from a half here and there we were winning games without playing well
  12. I have to agree TBH. I hate diving and it is one of the curses of the modern game. The criticism of Aluko was justified but he's not the first and won't be the last. He's a decent player that doesn't need to do this IMO.
  13. I agree with this 100%. If Ally goes with the mentality of "tough away game so we need big Lee in there" I will genuinely lose faith in his Ally as a manager to take us forward. Extreme I know but if he hasn't worked out that we cannot have a midfield with Edu and McCulloch by now I'm fear he never will Feek Hibs. They are a very poor side and we have better players than them. The facts prove that. Get a team out there to go for the win and not to avoid defeat and just "see how it goes". We are always better wheh we take the game to teams.
  14. Joking aside. What's the deal? Even if you look at our form outwith results during those months we have generally been poor. Saying that if we follow it like we did a few years back by going on a run in December I'll be happy...
  15. I'm not one for looking at form patterns in relation to previous teams/seasons etc. but after our very average form during October/November it got me thinking about previous seasons as I remember we were poor at the same of the season last year, and the season before...and the season before.... Anyway I thought this was interesting. Here is our October/November form from the last few years 2007-08 From a possible 15 pts (5 SPL games) we gained 9 pts thus dropping 6 pts 2008-09 From a possible 27 pts (9 SPL games) we gained 17 pts thus dropping 10 pts. 2009-10 From a possible 18 pts (6 SPL games) we gained 13 pts thus dropping 5 pts. 2010-11 From a possible 24 pts (8 SPL games)we gained 19 pts thus dropping 5 pts 2011-12 From a possible 21 pts (7 SPL games) we gained 14 pts thus dropping 7 pts Do our players not like the dark? LOL
  16. On the striker front, I wish we had managed to get Tomer Hemed in the summer. I genuinely think he would have scored a hatful in the SPL. He was doing well with Mallorca but seems to have dropped out. Is he injured? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QK7mA3Ex57I I also think we could have had a wee punt on Adam La Fondre of Rotheram before heading to Reading for £350,00. He's already scored 5 goals in 9 starts for them (after scoring 4 in 4 for Rotheram) and looks like he would score goals if supplied with the right balls. Saying that... he would probably struggle in our team then LOL
  17. I totally agree with you, especially the point about Jelavic taking throw in's. That's so wrong it's not funny. Do they (the Management) actually watch the DVD's of our games?
  18. Some good points BP but outwith the injury to Naismith I feel that our biggest problem lies in the poor form of our two most important players Jelavic and Davis. As much as Naisy was doing well you would get the impression from some posts that we were almost a one man team with him pulling all the strings. His energy is a big miss but I still feel that an under par Jelavic and Davis are having a major effect on how our team operates.
  19. How many of the games has he played? 2? If these games where the barrometer then the whole side looked as if they couldn't handle the SPL as we've been truly dreadful of late. Despite his size he did well in the rather robust A league from what we are told so I'm not that fussed about the rough and tumble of the SPL. Once again, I''m not saying he's a world beater but after 4/5 years of plodding midfielders in our side, I'm keen to see what he can bring to the side over a run of games in the middle of the park and not cameo appearances in vacant positions
  20. In the future I would suggest that anyone plays before McCulloch
  21. Morton for pace and skill, Baxter and Cooper for sheer talent and creative ability, George Young for never say die spirit and Bob McPahil to score a hatful with the chances these guys would create.
  22. Alan Morton, Bob McPhail, George Young, Jim Baxter, Davie Cooper
