Nah it’s the 16:30 one - I arrive into Gatwick at 8am so I’ve booked a lounge and will just work remotely there. I’m generally an optimist, but during that Killie game I had a horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach that Beale had totally messed up the summer rebuild and wasn’t up to it. Even in the pre-season games something wasn’t right, but I think most of us tried to reason that the new players were still gelling. The first OF just confirmed our worst fears - the moment Beale subbed off Roofe for Lammers when we were desperately trying to get a goal, the collective anger from the entire crowd of “this cunt hasn’t got a fucking clue” was deafening. As David Edgar says, that was the moment the vast majority of fans turned on him and there was no coming back. It’s honestly unbelievable how shite I felt coming home from Cyprus in October, convinced we weren’t winning anything, to having a League Cup in the cabinet, reaching the Europa League last 16 and being in a genuine title race by February. Clement is a miracle worker.
