  1. Was it not a 3-2-5? Left/centre/right backs left/right halves CF Inside and outside left & right? On that basis I would go Mcgregor Wilson . Weir . Boogie Edu . Thomson Davis at inside right .. fleck at inside left and Boyd at CF we have no wingers at mom so cant say!!! CW
  2. While I dont give a monkeys on his view of things generally ... imagine a bluenose comedian coming out with that on that on the opposite side!!!! Hung, drawn & quartered by the Jacobite media
  3. Eddie BDB and I were not in the Gers end but facing the main stand that night ... 2 guys next to us were St Etienne fans and were as amazed as us at what happened that night. I couldnt believe it that night and I know I will never see Beasley play better again. Good trip ... helluva scoreline!!!
  4. Goughie always reckoned Petric was a real hard man .. couldnt trust him!! Maybe makes him a loonie though!!
  5. so who was better Miko or Larsson Start another thread but this one is close!!!
  6. A big hero of mine but just the mention of his name allows me to compare Walts tactics of old to the current squad We bought Miko the season after he'd been voted Seria A's top midfilder .. playing centre mid Walt gets him ... he's got a good left foot ... so plays him on wing!!! I remember that if Miko was passed a ball 1/2 a foot above his head he'd leave it to go out ... wasnt his style Game at Parkhead when the tims were leaving as they walked in - no kidding - and a Scot cup tie where he played centre mid against Motherwell at the Brox were his games Outstanding player ... looked as lazy s Boyd but x20 the player!!!
  7. Unfortunately for him he's got the ability to do a job at Left Mid ... therefore he's picked there and won;t refuse. Ability? Just as much as McCulloch, Naisy & Lafferty ... if not more IMO!! I miss Charlie Adam!!
  8. McGregor is 1st pick for me ... should be for Scotland too ... if he were sold in January then I'd be dissapointed but have faith in Alexander. I honestly rated Kirk as a our RB and was mocked last year ... he' the best we've got ... Whitaker has ben having a mare this season Boogie at RCH and Wilson at LCH ... when Boogie comes back into the team Weir moves to the left ... why not just play the left sided CH? Weir is 39 and superb cover .. chances are he'll be back in January anyway so give him a break. PS not getting carried away with Danny but looks as good as anyone we've seen come though since Hutton. Papac is my most consistent of the season ... quiet, unassuming and ges on with his job ... like Kirk, he looks as though he's gonna fal over when he runs but best in his postion. Holding mid - I still go for a fit Thommo ... was talking to Stuart McCall the other week and i compared the 2 but gave an extra 40% to McCall ... KT'll come good. Attacking mid - Davis - to me only plays well through the mid and attacking ... mind his goal v the tic last season? Right & Left mid - we have no wingers and Beasley is not an option for me ... Messi would get booted all over Scotland but is undeniably a much better player than our yank pal. Therefore, I'd stick with Fleck at Left until a better option arrives or he can be moved into his own role. At right I would go for ??? I think tis is where the Davis at RM and Mendes forward comes in but Davis is wasted there, so I go with you on that!!! Up front for me is Boyd and Miller ... the best partnership at the club. Sad indictment is that there is little comparison!!! Not great though on recent performances!!!
  9. The Tartan Army also hit out at players for showing a lack of respect to Burley. Supporters spokesperson Tam Ferry insists the current squad should shoulder some of the blame for the former Hearts manager's sacking in the wake of Saturday's 3-0 loss in Wales. Ferry said: "I was there and I left after 55 minutes which was 55 minutes longer than I should have stayed. "Let's not forget the players who showed a complete lack of respect for the manager and they need to take a good look at themselves. "They are wearing the jersey and playing for their country but the lack of effort was poor. "We've seen players who decided to exclude themselves from the squad and there are also the ones who got into bother. "I think George even alluded to the fact there were still disruptive influences in the dressing room, even as late as Saturday. "It looked like some of the players did not have any respect for him but he was the manager and should have been treated with respect. Although George didn't help himself at times. Some of the tactics, substitutions and starting teams raised a few eyebrows." Is it just me but if Tam is the "supporters" spokesman, should he not be portraying a better example of a supporter? Jeez, 55mins ... even the subway loyal would chase this guy!! Another point to note is that he claims GB alluded to disruptive influences still in the dressing room ... well seeing as Lee M, Boydy, Fergie and McGreegs who at Ibrox is getting blamed now?!!! GB should now come out and name names.
  10. I think the time was right for him to go. The team needed to move on and it was never going to happen with him around. However, the 4-1 humbling by the Romanian mob and Scotland's mauling in Norway were 2 good examples of games where Fergie would have stood out. Yes he moaned but even if he was having poor game himself, he made sure that no-one went MIA CW
  11. I'm sure Gough said Gordan Petric was the hardest man he played with ... was something in the eyes ... everyone was very wary of the guy ... didnt know what he was going to do next!!!
