I assume you're middle aged, because any American below the age of 30 can see the strides soccer has made in the last 4 years alone. Honestly soccer is probably the equal of hockey in the States now, the problem is that American interest is fragmented between Euro-snobs, MLS and immigrants following their home league. On the other hand, Rangers fans shouldn't over-estimate the effects of expansion in the USA. Shirt sales could be okay, but they're not going to be flying off the shelves for the casual fans unless you guys purchase Landon Donovan or an American striker that starts putting up 20 goals a season. This FSC idea is an excellent idea though.

Yeah, I've had this account since I was trying to find updates on Edu's recovery from his serious knee injury back in 09. I'm more of a reader than a poster, unless I can contribute something useful like this. Because it can be insulting to the guys who have been fans of the club their entire life to see fairweather fans come in all of the sudden. American fans will definitely keep an eye out on their guys. If they started selling shirts in the states I would probably get one.

Pretty sure. After international matches Bocanegra is never really targeted by the Spanish-speaking reporters the way Donovan is. And after Donovan I would expect them to go for Bocanegra but instead they go for other guys on the squad.

Bocanegra does not speak Spanish. Bedoya does though.
