  1. The thing is with Khan that it's not too late for him to learn how to protect his chin. His skill isn't in question and he has some of the fastest hands in the sport. If he can prevent his chin from being exposed in exchanges then he's a match for anyone. And on the point about his chin, it's not the strongest but its weakness is overrated IMO. The shots he got KO'd by Prescott and Garcia would more than likely have KO'd anyone. Look at the shots he took from Maidana and the shots he took after the first knockdown from Garcia. He's still only 26 and has achieved more than some fighters from the UK ever will.
  2. Warren can't afford to bring Broner over here.
  3. He lost in a fight against a guy called Fernando Quintero as well. Doesn't matter any more though, he's improved vastly since then. I've never said Burns would beat him, I just think it's a more competitive fight than people think.
  4. There was subtle differences I thought. Was much more composed than previous fights and stuck to a game plan. Also fought on the inside and while it wasn't great it's an improvement on allowing fighters to tee off on him. Still things for him to work on though and his chin is still exposed when he lets his hands go. If he was in there with Garcia last night he would have been KO'd again. Far too open for counter left hooks and Garcia's left hook is brutal.
  5. Good win for Khan after back-to-back defeats but nothing to get carried away over. Still far too open for counter left hooks. There was subtle signs of improvement though. He kpet his composure much better and wasn't drawn in to too many exchanges. Also fought on the inside when he needed to. He should stay away from Garcia for now. Continue to rebuild before making that fight again. A fight against Josesito Lopez would be good.
  6. Nonito Donaire just KO'd Jorge Arce in round 3. Great KO.
  7. The fight on just now should finish inside the distance. The fight after is a heavyweight with 25 wins and 25 KO's, so all going well that finishes quickly as well.
  8. Should be a fairly routine win for Khan.
  9. I'll be very, very surprised if Khan loses tonight. If he can't beat Molina then he really should pack it in.
  10. There's boxing on tonight for anyone interested. Sky channel 200 from 9.30pm for Brian Rose vs. Sam Webb. ESPN from 10pm for Lee Haskins vs. Stephane Jamoye.
  11. Groves should win but I reckon Johnson tests his chin. Will be close for the first 8 or 9 rounds before Groves pulls away and Johnson gasses. Nice step-up for Groves - while Johnson is faded I don't think he's necessarily done. Looks like Shane Mosley is going to fight Malignaggi. Man I wish Shane would stay retired. Shame on the WBA and athletic commission if they sanction this.
  12. Brook-Alexander postponed due to Brook suffering an ankle injury. Burns off the London card this weekend due to his opponent pulling out. Amir Khan returns on Saturday night.
  13. All about opinions but I don't think Manny would have beat Mayweather - even in his prime. Shame though that if the fight happens it won't be as good as it would have been all those years ago. It will obviously still do well on PPV but it should have been made when both when their in their prime - or near enough in their prime anyway. Both are still good and both can still beat any top fighter, but they're both on their way out. All these drug accusations flying about are as ludicrous as the one's Floyd made about Pacquiao IMO. Personally I'd rather have stone cold proof that a fighter is doping before labelling them a cheat.
  14. Just off the top of my head I can think of Paul Williams and Hatton - both were never the same after their KO defeats. Freddie spoke about it in 24/7 that if Pac was to lose he would consider telling him to retire. There are still fights out there for Manny, but as he gets older his punch resistance will go, and he's never been the best defensively so is liable to be on the receiving end of another KO at some point.
  15. I had Manny a point up at the time as well and thought he was edging the 6th. That overhand right is a new weapon for Marquez, he's usually all about the straight right hand counters but we never seen it that much tonight. Above all I hope that Manny is fine as that was pretty bad KO.
  16. Up until the KO that's the best I've seen Manny look in a long, long time. Just got caught by a perfect a counter bang on the chin. Punch would have KO'd anyone.
  17. Brutal KO by Marquez. Pacquiao walked right into it.
  18. One day, someone is going to KO Gamboa.
  19. Better performance from DeGale compared to his last outing. Still retreats to the ropes too much - won't get away with that against better fighters. Class above Zuniga though.
  20. Quite a lot of boxing on tonight. Barker v Hope on Sky Sports which is followed by Brian Magee vs. Mikkel Kessler. James DeGale on Channel Five from 10pm. And then the Pacquiao-Marquez card in the early hours.
  21. If I'm Marquez I'm very happy with the selection of the three judges. All three are favourable towards counter-punchers.
  22. Marquez weighs in at 143 ahead of his fight with Manny tomorrow. Pacquiao weighed in at 147
  23. I felt Barker could have gave a better account of himself against Sergio to be honest. Was far too cautious in letting his hands go IMO. Win-win situation for Murray though, but I can't see how wins - but he will give a good account of himself.
  24. Nothing more than tune-up and a home-coming fight IMO. Don't see Murray causing Martinez any problems.
