I think fleck needs a chance, when he came onto the scene we were all raving about him then we played celtic, he got hooked during the game and hasn't really had a run since. He was unfortunate last season because he was flying in pre season, thats why he got the no.10 shirt. He's not a left winger, its plainly obvious, however if he is played out there he needs to put more effort and take the good parts of his game like driving at players, quick passing and moving and unleashing that terrific left foot of his. Just spoke to my dutch friend about Wesley. Interesting to hear what he said Dutch Friend.....Verhoek is a strong player who moves really well, has the best cross of the dutch league and great fighting spirit(they all have at ADO the Hague). plays right winger. Why, did he sign for Rangers? Me - Ah good. Not yet, we have placed a bid in for him. I thought he was a left winger? Dutch Friend - well not really, he's right footed, so normally classified as a right winger.....but he has a good shot, so turning inside from the left wing is certainly an option Obviously from the clips he can play on the left, but so could weiss and all spl defenders did was double up and push him wide. Plus we never played him on the right. I would love us to sign a proper left winger someone who can naturally take the ball past the defender (players like wilson are asking for it) and put a quality cross in, i liked what i say from wylde last season but sometimes feel he doenst have a plan b, i.e. coming inside. But he is young and will improve. Ortiz clearly needs to play on the right and i think we will be good outside but his left foot is weak.

Goodwillie and his agent are meeting with thompson in the next few days, I imagine the outcome will be that goodwillie will be leaving for definite, what will be interesting is if he demands a particular transfer i.e. to rangers. The boy signed a new contract in march, so DU has every right to say to him, fine but they will have to match a fee. Unless he puts in a transfer request and forces the move DU can ask for as much as they like. We know its silly money in england, maybe someone needs to have a wee whisper in goodwillies ear and get him to force the move....

I hear mcfadden is on his way back to everton. Which suits him as he'll never start and will occasionally come off the bench and score a belter. Not rangers quality.

Seeing us on saturday, we need a winger and a centre forward pronto. Ortiz looks good but he is clearly not a left winger. Get him on the right and i think he will be able to supply jelavic and whoever (hoping goodwillie) with some quality crosses. I also think if goodwillie wants to come to us, he should hold out and not move to a championship side paying him an extra £5k. I dont seem the harm in him putting in a transfer request, top players around the world do it to force the move they want, and it usually drops the fee.
