  1. A big thanks to everyone who has bought my book, It’s off to the Match I go. I’ve sold the initial batch of two hundred, and as such I’m ready to donate £200 to the Scottish War Blinded Linburn Centre in Willkieston, West Lothian. I’ll be doing that next week, just waiting to get one of those big cheque thingies from the bank so that I can get a picture for the local rag. Having received some extra orders, I’ve got another batch in, so books will still be available. As ever I’ll be at the Blue gate, next to the Ibrox Disaster memorial at the Copland Road end on Saturday for the Aberdeen game, any time after 2.30. Just message me if you want a copy, or drop by on the day ... I won’t turn you away! See www.its-off-to-the-match.co.uk
  2. Jelavic's percentage of the vote has gone down ... simple fact is, they are better at fiddling an internet vote than we are.
  3. I should have said before ... I sit in the Govan Front, so if anyone fancies a book and cant be bothered hanging about outside in the cold ... I can catch you inside the ground at half time.
  4. Referee was Andrew Waddell not Bob Valentine ... but your assessment is still valid. Super Ally did indeed miss a barrel load of chances, but what made him a great striker was the fact that he didn’t hide after missing a few, he still got in there to miss some more ... then get the winner. www.its-off-to-the-match.co.uk
  5. Looks like it was a white Christmas on Edmiston Drive www.its-off-to-the-match.co.uk
  6. Good man Book is addressed and wrapped up, just waiting for the Post Office to open now. Good New Year to all.
  7. Glad your dad enjoyed it. The interview with Flipper in the new book is a cracker ... if I do say so myself
  8. Curiously enough, my next book will be all about dolphins ... the life and times of the Bottlenosed Loyal
  9. My story as a Rangers fan. See the website for more
  10. My now traditional pre-Ibrox post. I'll have some copies of my book, "Its off to the match I go," at Ibrox on Monday for the Motherwell game. Next to the Blue Gates at the Copland Rd end, from 2.30 till just before kick off. Possibly in the Wee Rangers Club before that, but need to confirm that one. If anyone fancies a copy, sent a PM or e-mail via the address on the website, I'll reserve a copy for you! See http://www.its-off-to-the-match.co.uk for more details. A good new year to everyone when it comes ... and hey ... its only two points, lets get behind the team and roar them onto three points, this is when we all need to pull together.
  11. The book is £11.99. I'll be standing my ground at the Blue Gates. Look out for that yellow and black trackie top ... my 14s game was off today, but I'll still have it on
  12. Meant to say in my initial post. If anyone is looking for me on Saturday, I'll be wearing that yellow and black Uphall Diamonds trackie top ... trust me I'll be hard to miss
  13. If you go to www.its-off-to-the-match.co.uk , there is a PAYPAL / Credic card option there. Also sent a PM
  14. I'll be next to the blue gates at the Copland Road end on Saturday from about 2.30 ( ICT game ), with some copies of my book ... It's off to the match I go Stories from my fifty odd years as a football and Rangers fan ... a right good read, even if I do say so myself See www.its-off-to-the-match.co.uk A minimum of £1, hopefully more will be donated to the Scottish War Blind Linburn Centre in West Lothian. I've currently raised about £175, hoping to get that up to at least £200. Appologies for pestering you guys, but having written, printed and funded the book on my own, I dont have a big publicity machine behind me ... would you believe that one of the publishers I approached said; "Sorry, but there isn't a big enough market for a Rangers fan book" Go on ... prove them wrong
  15. Thanks Judderman, Hope you enjoy the rest of it ! Duncan
  16. Falklands war April '82 Rangers in Lille July '82 Argentinean restuarant displaying light blue and white flags. It was never going to have a happy ending ! Probably the most rousing Rule Britania I've ever heard. ... and Dublin, that was just mental. Liverpool to Dublin Ferry Loyal
  17. You are correct I think. Did you manage to make it to the Argentinean resturant on the Lille trip ... seem to remember it got quite lively for a while.
  18. Not me I'm afraid, my pre-season tours were curtailed by getting married and having kids. I did however sing and entertain a pre-season crowd in Sweden, during the John Greig years ... but thats another story
  19. Supping for the UK ... sounds like a good sport to me
  20. £11.99 Dan, I'll be at the Blue Gates at the Copland Road end, 2.30. I help run an Under 14s team and they are playing Saturday morning, so I'll be wearing my black and yellow trackie ... trust me, I'll be hard to miss!
  21. Thanks, meeting a few folf at the game tomorrow, so copies will be available
  22. Was that not in the Hong Kong seven a side tournament over there ?
  23. Played the Chinese national team, Billy McKay's testimonial ... I think. Willie Henderson went to Hong Kong Rangers for a while in the 70s, as did Billy Semple.
  24. Just a reminder that my book "It's off to the match I go" is still available ... and would make a right good Christmas present. See www.its-off-to-the-match.co.uk I'll be at Ibrox on Saturday with some copies, from about 2.30 onwards, next to the Blue Gates at the Copland Road end of the ground. If anyone fancies a copy ... Drop me a message here, or an e-mail via the website and I'll get back to you with more details. Thanks
  25. See www.its-off-to-the-match.co.uk My life story, watching Rangers over 40 odd years. The good, the bad and the sometimes nutty.
