  1. It think it's a strange one mate because fans Liverpool & Everton have an affinity with both clubs , in the 80's you'd see those bobble hats with half Everton/Rangers , Liverpool/celtic or vice versa. Currently I know Liverpool feel they have a 'closeness' with Celtic and that YNWA bollocks and I think they are suited to each other as the classless behaviour or their fans and managers in particular shows. A lot of Evertonians think the players we've shared Steven, Stevens, Gazza, Ferguson , Durrant , mcCall , Arteta , Kanchelskis & particularly Gough and Weir has brought us closer not to mention Walter . Personally mate I have loads of reasons but my mate who used to sit next to me was killed in Iraq and for me and mates their behaviour over poppies and Remembrance Sunday meant that even the lads amongst us who may have not been pro-Rangers certainly are now.
  2. Your right Certainly a good player can play anywhere mate but its just making that judgement as to whether they can 'step up' , Jelavic looks like he's got more than enough.
  3. I've been & watched Rangers a few time but mostly I only get to catch games on TV which as I think we all know isn't the best way of judging a player. From what I'd seen he looked to have the quality but without being rude the 'step up in class' , ie the ability of defenders was a concern but we also weren't a side that creates a host of chances although the appetite and movement of Jelavic has contributed towards that changing. I think I'd have had concerns about any player that came from any league that wasn't Italy or Spain so I'd say I certainly don't consider the SPL a pub league but for example plenty of prolific scores from the Eredivisie have struggled for goals in the Prem.
  4. From what I can gather from reporting and various people that know a few bits of 'insider knowledge' at the club the £5.5m is what we've paid with the rest performance/appearance based. You have to realise Everton hadn't bought a player for a couple of years whilst we'd sold plenty so it suited the Club to talk of the fee at its top end.
  5. I've just posted this in another thread on Jelavic in 'General Football'. Hello lads, I'm an Evertonian with a lot of love for Rangers, I signed up just to show some support during difficulties . Jelavic has been brilliant & has probably suprised a lot of us with his ability, all his goals have so far been as a result of a great finish showing his general technique. The most refreshing thing has been even when he misses chances he's willing to put himself right back into those positions looking for the ball again . Anyway we're delighted with him lads.

  7. That's an incredible gesture by a player for his club and he should be applauded for it
  8. I'm not sure that's the best example mate , however the Chairman of MK Dons has accepted this year that AFC Wimbledon should be the ones to 'retain ' the history of Wimbledon . It looks like talks are taking place over that and I think that's probably more relevant . In the worst case scenario surely there can't be any doubt that any 'surviving ' or 'phoenix' football club would rightfully retain its history
  9. If I was an internet knobhead or troll mate id sign up and pretend to be whatever I wanted, I haven't done that. I've been honest about who and what I am and you don't have to believe me but it's the truth. I hope you can come through this soon and I hope I get a chance to come up for another game .
  10. Obviously you'd know they aren't taking payments but I've registered there mate , if and when it comes to donating it might be a combination of a few of us that donate but you'll get something from us lads.
  11. Really mate ? I can only talk for that lads I know and we have real sympathy . Maybe not the media but Don't underestimate that a lot of people down here are in your corner.
  12. Because I respect you as a Club and have enjoyed watching you when I've been able but mainly because you lads deserve better than this shit and if it can happen to you it can happen to anyone. Don't get me wrong mate like your former Chairman I haven't got thousands to throw around but a few hundred quid to help a 'great British club' would be something I'd be happy to help with.
  13. I'm an Evertonian mate and have always followed my Club , but I've been up to to watch yoyr side and Rangers have always been a Club I've enjoyed watching. I signed up here today because a lot of us here feel for you on your current plight and if possible want to help , financially or otherwise.
  14. I'm new on here and I'm like an interested outsider (although I have a lot of love for the Gers) but just wondering what the general opinion is on Ally ? After the success of Walter Is Ally out of his depth here or is the problem the situation ?
  15. Signed up on here this morning to give some support to you fellas and to let you know there are a lot of fans it England pulling for you through this . Got to say as an Evertonian I'm delighted to see you don't seem to buy in like so many other unfortunates to being all over the Kopites. Delighted to see RVP secure the points for Arsenal especially after what seemed pretty classless quotes from Adam this week.
  16. I posted on here this morning just to show my support for you lads at this difficult time and i'm going to stay around the board as a few of us hope to maybe get involved in some fund raising or even any future fans buy out or investment. as an Evertonian I'm made up to see you don't buy into the massive love in for our near neighbours that so many seem to indulge in. Saying that they've just gone ahead sadly despite that fantastic double save. Good luck in your game but more importantly good luck thought this crisis and certainly amongst a lot of us Blues you have a lot of support.
