  1. That mate certainly gets you a rep, cheers
  2. Oh mate absolutely and don't think I'm ignoring your plight that's why I'm on here . From our point of view we've been getting shafted for years we are in no position to think we are able to financially 'bully' anyone also though we (as a club rather than individuals ) are in no position not to look hard at a player of his talent on a free. Like I say a lot of people are very uncomfortable about profiting from this situation but for those running the club financially I can see where they are coming from.
  3. There's quite a lot of debate amongst Evertonians about the merits of taking someone that quits on his 'boyhood club' . rightly or wrongly given Everton's financial position & the presence of Jelavic the Club would always be interested although some of us would certainly be uncomfortable. to be fair Everton have not been responsible for Naismith skulking out of the door & I'm hoping for all the understandable bad will Rangers fans feel towards him they won't turn their ire to Everton .
  4. That's a magnificent interview something for the player & all Rangers fans to be very proud of
  5. Posted yesterday that I'd been told he was asking far too much (no suprise) then edited my post almost straight away that he'd been prepared to negotiate his position and a deal 'was close to being done'. There have certainly been talks & I'd expect news on it soon.
  6. The rumours circulating locally relating to this fella and Everton is that we've had talks with his people & at the minute his demands have priced us out of the deal. If the demands aren't lowered I'm not sure where he'll be going but it's unlikely to be here , he's clearly doing all he can to maximise his earning potential whether that's shafting his childhood club or making pretty heavy demands. EDIT- looks like he's close to signing for everton now so obviously been movement in his demands
  7. I'm an Evertonian mate and there is certainly concern about it. I wouldn't bullshit anyone and say Evertonians would hate him but it's certainly caused worries for us as we saw Rooney walkout on us and even getting a fee we were still pissed off . If he came to Everton then he wouldn't be starting at a level a lot of signing have and he'll have to win people over. Deserting your boyhood club gives you a fair idea of someone's character .
  8. He's on massive wages which other clubs would struggle to meet given his ban & history . I'm told QPR looked into sacking him but it was deemed the behaviour wasn't considered gross misconduct so releasing him on a free was discussed but he told the club he'd demand his contract be paid off which would cost up and about £11m apparently. Barton has effectively got them by the bollocks
  9. It's tough because I can see their initial 'joy' but as you see maybe its a case of you don't know what you've got til it's gone & it's fair to say they'll miss Rangers as football is about competition . On Everton Mate there are certainly connections on the playing front which makes a 'connection' easier. From what we are hearing down here we are certainly linked to Naismith and he certainly fits our price range, if we did and he's half as succesful as our last signing from you has gone so far then I'd be delighted but don't thinkin revelling in what your going through with the players quitting.
  10. Absolutely mate , it was me that called myself an outsider and I am as I simply couldn't imagine what you are going through. I just meant I considered myself more than that and as long as my club aren't playing you (given our regular league position and your situation it won't be happening anytime soon) I'll support you and look out for you in every game you play. I can understand the jealousy even hate of other clubs but as you say it's the sheer vindictiveness that surprises me. The fact your greatest rivals ate you is to be expected but its the across the board desire to punish & punish & punish that.l that I find so annoying so I've no idea how you must feel. Anyway like I've said you're bigger & better than the lot of them so bollocks to them all
  11. It seems you lads are hearing it might be bullshit but if it's true and there are obviously issues at the club would it change your opinion of those refusing the contract transfer ? I'm genuinely interested in your thoughts
  12. Manc what I don't follow is why come on here and figuratively put the boot in ? I know you say you want a 'better understanding' well if you do surely just read the 100's of threads and gauge their position. If you dislike Rangers I can see how certain fans would revel in their suffering but do it amongst your own like minded fans surely ? All you are doing is picking a moment when football fans are seeing their beloved club in crisis, players leave & their future uncertain and taking advantage of this moment to at best try and provoke a response but in reality just mock their position . It's akin to kicking away someone's crutch and frankly does neither you or your club credit , there are times in life to fight but you are attacking people who I'm sure have long since had their fill. Rest assured mate your club will reap what you sow & given the 'relegation issues' around Aberdeen in the past I'm not sure any high or mighty ideas of 'sporting integrity' are particularly appropriate . Rangers will be back and maybe that's exactly why you and so many like you can't wait to not only enjoy this whole crisis but to provoke and mock these fans in the middle of all this chaos shows me exactly what kind of bloke you are.
  13. Being honest I consider myself more than an outsider in that I've been up to watch you a few times and obviously would always watch you as much as possible but clearly I can't feel the pain your going through now, it's upsets me but it couldn't compete what you lads are going through. A few of us are definitely coming up next season whatever division your in and we are talking of making it more of a regular thing. Like I say keep fighting the fight and for all the dickheads enjoying it don't lose sight that there are fans from a lot of us in your corner. Like my dad used to say use this moment to see those who are putting the boot in and those that stand shoulder to shoulder with you , the only 'plus' you can take from all this is you can see those that stand with you and those that revel in your misfortune and don't forget ANY of them.
  14. As something of an outsider , not an outsider like these halfwits who sign up on here to stick the boot in but in that first and foremost I'm an Evertonian but one who has enjoyed a good few days out travelling up to watch your lads . Someone who signed up as well because to show support about what you've been put through lately and the pathetic gloating of others in the SPL is frankly sickening . I'd like to say that Durham might not be typical of the Scottish media and its certainly not from what I hear on the BBC Scottish football podcast but I think you'd be suprised how typical it is of many English football fans. A lot of football fans feel a lot of sympathy for your predicament but more so for the attitude of clubs who seek to trample you under foot and not just punish you but keep kicking and kicking you in the hope that they can finish you off , well from reading the posts & attitude on here it's clear they won't finish you off . So maintain your attitude against your enemies and their are plenty of them but don't lose sight that a lot of us are in your corner and looking forward to seeing you on the way back up passing most of those pathetic smalltimes on the way up.
  15. Although I think the comments crossed the line I can sort of understand (that doesnt mean I agree) with the 'mindset' of players wanting to leave & maximise their earnings but that doesn't take from what a top class gesture this is from Wallace , he deserves the complete respect from not just Rangers fans but football fans generally.
  16. As I understand it they wanted to release him but he made it clear he wanted his contact paid in full if that was to happen & that would be about £11m , as for his fine his end of season bonus was over £800k so he won't be starving.
  17. Regardless of the rights and wrong or the apportioning of blame throught this whole situation I'm sure everyone can see why Rapid would feel fed up or angry about their position in this but like so many others they're apparently suffering thanks to actions of a very small group of people. The whole footballer creditors rule is confusing in itself as it would seem wholly appropriate in a case like this but that contrasts with how uncomfortable it Makes you feel to see multi-millionaire football players screw every penny whist small businesses are effectively thrown to the wolves.
  18. I've selectively ignored the second half of your post in order to give you a rep
  19. I'm English and pretty patriotic mate , I've been to the last two world cups and I'm genuinely suprised by the attitude of the bloke you described as everyone I associate with has been so down/negative during the build up and into this tournament summed up I suppose by the almost a total absence of flags on cars across the country . If he's thinking about "who we'll play on the final" I imagine rather than being typical English he's just a bit of a knobhead, There is a thread of arrogance amongst most nations about their sporting heroes but certainly in this particular tournament from an England point of view it seems noticeable by its almost complete absence.
  20. I signed up a while ago as a fan of an English club but with a lot of respect and if I'm honest a bit of love for Rangers and I just wanted to offer my support during your difficulties.. I've been up and watched you more than once but I worry about posting about a lot of these current issues as I think it's almost an areawhere the only real opinions are yours , the 'real fans ' but as I've watched events unfold and read/listened to the media I feel I've got to say something. I do understand the opinion of some others clubs fans and their animosity towards Rangers (although understanding isn't agreeing I can just sort of see we're they're coming from ) despite the fact they seem unable to grasp the damage losing Rangers would have to the SPL . My real issue is the fact they these people (media, other clubs and fans ) don't seem to want to just punish rangers which like I say I don't agree with but I could understand its the kicking they seem to want to give the Club whilst spouting this 'sporting integrity' rubbish but trying to protect their cash flow. If its really easy for me to say but I can really empathise with the fans who say lets drop down to the 3rd Division and leave the rest to themselves for a couple of years because their moralistic rubbish and what seems to be huge desire to stick the boot in is winding me up so I've no idea how you lads feel. Trying to justify to their actions to knee-jerk fans whist trying to screw every penny they can out of a Great Club , it's frankly sickening. Whatever happens I'll be up to watch you with a few lads next season whatever division your in and respect to ou all for your support and dignity
  21. I don't know how much truth there is in these previous posts but Philip green is widely considered to have a influence with My club (everton) & I think we all know how much we've spent in the last few years. Green and our chairman are friends & green was believed in the past to have helped guarantee an overdraft but we've had little more from him than that so I wouldn't hold out too much hope of him riding to the rescue lads but lets hope regardless of him this situation can be resolved ASAP.
  22. As you know better than anyone the difference in one city is amazing, in 2009 I know servicemen who brought the flags onto the pitch before the final and they and everyone else was shown respect by the way the national anthem was song and observed but this year the Liverpool fans boo the own countries anthem and spout all this "we aren't English we are scouse" bollocks . Insulting and disrespectful , in so many ways the perfect match to your rivals the pair of them wouldn't know class or dignity if it bit them in the arse.
  23. As an Evertonian I think it's interesting to see how fans on different sides view it. Heitinga has been in the frame for our player of the season competes at odds with his frankly disinterested form last year , he's certainly ahead of Jags in our side. Distin is playing at left back due to injury but semi final mistake apart he has probably edged the battle to play with Heitinga at centre half. Baines is in my opinion as good a left back as there is about. Cahill has been immense of the years but probably lucky to be in the first XI much anymore. As has been said Rodwell is potential and nothing more really. Pienaar , who is obviously only on loan is quality Fellani is a good player who looks to link up well with Jelavic who lets face it you know his attributes better than I do., Gibson is nothing special but his disciplne allows Fellani to roam,. It's more than his ability it's what he allows others around him to do and he's not been on the losing side in the League for us. I think you certainly have a case for the keeper , we are weak on the right side in both positions.and you could certainly make an argument against Gibson as as I say it's more about what he allows others to do and although I'd argue there could be debate at centre half to play with Heitinga.
  24. As a supporter of another Club in England but with a lot of love for Rangers can I just say the support and loyalty shown by the fans today is something you should all be immensely proud of, your a credit to your club and football in general. Well done.
