  1. from the Sunday Times Rich list 63= (102=) Douglas Park and family £78m surely finding the 500k for the Blue Knights bid was more than possible, even taking into account the above figure is not just cash based. If one member of the Blue Knights has this kind of wealth why are (were) they asking Ticketus to front the cash? Edit : this is the list for Scotland and not the whole of the UK. Incidentally, Brian Kennedy is at No. 16 on the same list with a wealth valued at £250 million.
  2. Hopefully he is serious in his intent and putting his money where his mouth is (minimum £14 million) and it's not just a stalling tactic to allow Paul Murray to thrash out another deal with Ticketus behind the scenes. I just want the whole situation sorted and put to bed - then we can get on with important issue of making sure we have a good enough team for next season's challenge.
  3. Samuel Eto is from Cameroon (Fifa Ranked 64) and George Weah is from Liberia (Fifa Ranked 112) - am i right saying they are both past winners of the 'World Player of the Year', all it might take is a decent training setup and a good push in the right direction and there may well be that one gem to be found (with great potential).
  4. from what i gather TBK were the preferred bidders through having the various fan's associations on-side - which D&P seen as being a benificial factor in the future wellbeing of the club. That TBK were unwilling to put up 500k of the consortiums own money (outwith Ticketus) possibly shows a huge lack of confidence in the bid they have on the table and where future finance is going to come from because Ticketus would only allow themselves to be milked for so long before saying they've had enough. When that happens where do we do we go from there - probably back to where we are just now.
  5. why does PM have such a desperate need for Ticketus to put up the 500k, surely his consortium must have the ability to find that much ready cash between them without having to go to a company that's already owed 27 million. It sounds to me that the so-called 'Blue Knights' is actually only the 'Blue Knight' who needs Ticketus to totally finance his takeover - adding more debt to what's already there.
  6. if the biggest (and most successful) clubs in the EPL can have foreign owners then i don't see the problem with scotlands biggest and best club being owned by a foreigner.
  7. Perhaps the deal with Ticketus and The Blue Knights involved future shares to the value of any monies owed (which would amount to 27 million quids worth)which suited Ticketus to a point. Octopus, their parent company, might have seen this as the only way to get the money back, although they would prefer cold hard cash which Paul Murray doesn't have and the other 'Consortium' members were'nt willing to front up. This scenario, however, would probably have made TU's the main shareholder which they don't want to be - hence the jumping of ships when the opportunity arose. The Blue Knights then pulled out of the process because all along the BK's were just a group of names for PM to band about to make it look like he had some ready cash in the form of backers - his real form of income would have been a fans share issue (minimum a 1000 quid per person)and when TU's got on board he thought his ship was in. He only had 10 million - which happened to be the same amount as TU's were offering as a loan and when he asked for another 1/2 million for exclusivity they told him to take a run and jump. I'm most probably wrong but .... you never know.
  8. Just read on the BBC news how Lennon thinks todays defeat was personal lol. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17721320
  9. you have to admit - if either of those goals were scored by Rooney, Torres, Drogba or Van Persie they would be classed as something special with words like 'sublime' 'fantastic' or 'world class' being used by the media down south after mentioning 'exceptional perception to get into the scoring position' and 'brilliant ball control and suberb finish' so their definetly up there with the best.
  10. Singapore and Bill Ng for me. He's clearly stated that he will install a boardroom that consists of scottish Rangers supporters, he has the clubs best interests at heart (through listening to the fans) and i think he has a genuine wealth that take the club forward plus has current experience of running a football club (albeit a small one). I think Paul Murrays interest is self-centred in that he is willing to do what it takes and say what he needs to say to ensure that he can be known as 'Paul Murray - Rangers Chairman'. The Bill Millar bid, i don't think, has been thought through properly - i feel he's sees Rangers as a viable venture but he hasn't looked enough into what it takes to be the owner of a football club.
  11. I think Le Guen's days were numbered with the squad when it became clear he actually wanted them to work for their money. They were too used to a couple of hours training a couple of days a week - he wanted them in every day doing a full shift and the players spat their dummies out.
  12. As has been previously mentioned the 'Joint Supporters Groups' are in favour of the BK's and as such i think this 'Statement' has been driven by Paul Murray to put pressure on the administrators - they should leave things alone and let the process run it's course. I'd rather the proper time was taken to ensure the right bid for the clubs future than make a snap decision and get it wrong. I wonder what they would say if, after being so vocal for the BK's, Paul Murray and his consortium were the wrong choice after all - time and patience is important because there's only going to be one chance.
  13. the thing about Murray is he has the supporters trusts on-side so he's going to say exactly what they want to hear but Bill Ng comes from a culture where honesty, honour and integrity is of utmost importance. The american is also saying the right things to get the fans support but he has a dubious business background where failure is concerned - for me Ng is the man ticking all the right boxes and has the long term future of the club mapped out. Hopefully he get's preferred bidder status and moves the club forward to the place where they belong. I also think he would have the guts to stick 2 fingers up to the SPL, the SFA and Liewell in particular if they try and dictate how the club should be treated in regard to the future sanctions.
  14. i agree that they should go down to the 3rd division - the sanctions which the SPL are talking about imposing are designed for one purpose and that is to purely hinder Rangers performance in the coming seasons. Let them stew and rue what they wished for
