  1. Any idea how much the deal is worth?
  2. Cardiff True Blues will be meeting to watch the game at 12:00 this Saturday in the Owain Glyndwr in the city centre. Feel free to come along and join us - introduce yourself if you haven't been before - we will be sat in the raised area near the kitchen just past the side bar downstairs.
  3. While the verdict today is welcome news, I have to question why today was the day chosen to release it - especially given that Lord Nimmo Smith has known about this since at least yesterday, but most probably since the end of last week. So I was thinking what else happens on the last day in February. Is the SPL year end in May? If it is then doesn't that make today the deadline for them to file their accounts? I wonder if they have filed them... I'm far from an expert in this area so I may well have got these dates wrong, and apologies if someone else has already mentioned this. Perhaps someone with more knowledge of this area could look into it?
  4. I, and I am sure the majority of others, certainly hope so. I can think of nothing better than having one of our greatest playing legends become one of our greatest managerial legends.
  5. I'm not one of those calling for his job at this stage. I am still hoping he improves as a manager. Regardless of performances I believe he should remain in the job at least until he fails to get us promoted or has an absolutely abysmal first season in the top league. However if he shows marked improvement over that 2-4 year period, and narrowly misses out on the league I do think he should be given a little more time after that, maybe as much as another season. Having said all that if we got the chance to get a proven manager in that is interested in staying long term I think we should jump at it. My list of suitable proven managers, by the way, is exceptionally small.
  6. You think he will still be manager if he fails to get us promoted at the first time of asking from SFL2? SFL1? I'm not a quick fix sort of person and I have a long memory, I really do hope that Ally develops as a manager in the next few seasons and goes on to become a highly successful Rangers manager. Having said that, he needs to do quite a bit of improving from my perspective, as he is currently proving himself to be tactically inept, deficient in leading training sessions appropriately, and, most worryingly, ineffectual at motivating the team. All these things can be learned and improved, and I hope he does. My gut tells me though, that he is not capable of significant improvement. I hope I am wrong, I really do.
  7. The bit in bold is at best highly questionable, but more than likely a complete fallacy. Comparing SAF to Super is a borderline straw man argument. SAF managed Aberdeen to league titles as the third team in a two horse race before he ever started at Man U. Managerial stability does not necesarily ensure success, even if the manager is undoubtedly talented in the first instance. Look at Arsene Wenger for a prime example.
  8. Some of the best console games ever made were N64 games. Goldeneye anyone?
  9. I am worried that if Ally is manager next season we may not get promoted.
  10. Oh dear me. Go back an read the fkin rules ya fud.
  11. I feel embarrassed on behalf of the clown who said Andy Little is utter shite last week.
  12. I also got sick of people commenting on how ugly I am, so I thought I would put a cute little duckling there instead.
  13. It's the Song Modernisation Committee now. But indeed all this today only serves to highlight the importance of this issue, and further justifies the formation of the committee. Unfortunately we are still awaiting a written response from FoCUS, but rest assured we are still pursuing the matter.
  14. I wonder if this (and the resultant discussion) deserves its own thread. I have watched in dismay the last few days how Bill has been attacked left right and centre, and some of the things said of him have been bang out of order. I don't think it's right what people have been saying and it might be nice for people to listen to the audio to get a better idea of the tone.
  15. Right I have just been to the docs and while I was bored in the waiting room I was thinking about this thread. I don't really like the idea that some people who thought I was all right might have decided I am a dick after reading this thread. So I'd just like to sum up my posts in this handy bullet-point list. I don't like the idea of being proud of thieving from a pub (or anywhere else for that matter). I didn't know about the apparently wide-spread turnstile hopping that was done in the 60's and 70's, primarily accepted by paying supporters and done mostly by young boys. I don't really have any problem with the above, obviously it was a different time, but it wouldn't be such a terrible thing if kids got in for free even now. I know various meanings for the phrase "Iron Curtain", including the famous Rangers defence. I don't currently earn a lot of money, neither am I particularly wealthy, and I am from a very working-class background. I don't generally like communism/communists. I don't generally like yermaw145's posts. I have learned that quinty likes Latin phrases and random related words, that Iron Curtain doesn't like elitists or talking about/belittling because of disparities of wealth, and that thegummy objects to long hair. stu54 really, really wants this thread to be about young team shenanigans. So to try and grant stu54 his wish, and to make amends for completely de-railing this thread, I'd like to add my own story of childhood naughtiness. Not football related, but I hope it helps. I used to buy music CDs from ASDA when I was a kid, and when you pay for them at the music counter they put them in a white bag with a coloured Sellotape seal showing that you have paid. One time I kept this and the next time I went in got a CD from the music counter, but told them I would pay at the main checkout. I wandered around the store and put this CD into the white bag from last time and re-sealed it. I then walked through the checkout, waving the CD-in-bag above the checkout to the till woman (above the security detector) and successfully got away with stealing the CD. I am not proud of this. I also stole a Nemesis keyring, mug, and 3 Cadbury's Cream Eggs from Alton Towers when I went on a school trip. I still have the keyring.
  16. The main problem, as I see it, with Communism is human nature. Which in fairness is a fairly big stumbling block.
  17. Sorry what? Now I'm a charlatan because I don't like communism?
  18. Your continued efforts to re-rail this thread are both cute and hilarious. I actually sort of feel bad now.
  19. Fair comment. For that reason I have added an addendum to the original post to avoid further misunderstanding.
  20. Had I been alive I would be more likely to have been a liftee.
  21. I did know about the Iron Curtain and, in the continuing theme of this thread, I was being facetious. Having said that, irrespective of any history of communism and Rangers, I am personally strongly against communism and think anyone who is a communist is at best sadly misguided, and at worst a dangerous element. That's just my personal opinion though.
