  1. I'd picked the very same players but with a back three. Kiernan only remains because I've never seen Bates play.
  2. It's not so much dropping players for me (Kiernan apart) but not sending the players out to fail by asking them to do things they can't. Even Waghorn wouldn't look like such a carthorse if played as a centre-forward rather than falling over his feet in slow motion out wide. For me the more radical choice for MW would be to drop the 4-3-3 that's not working and do something different, better suited to the players he brought to the club.
  3. Yep, and that would go some way to helping us out with other issues too. The sorry amount of time that the ball spends in the opposition box might just be why we score so few goals, not helped by the current choice 'central' striker doing his best to play anywhere but there. Having two strikers might also stop that infernal passing-to-nowhere that the midfield invariably gets stuck in repeatedly.
  4. Don't laugh, but imagine if we asked Halliday to play as the DM and he turned out to be shit at it? Agreed - play Dodoo through the middle with something that might be called 'support', he'd be fine. That's not 4-3-3 so it won't happen.
  5. It speaks to the seemingly chaotic way in which the squad has been built. So many strikers for essentially one position, the rest taking turns to play wider in roles they clearly can't do. I suspect Dodoo will play tomorrow, if only for being next in line for the one area of the team that MW doesn't appear to have a phobia for changing. Unfortunately he'll again be handicapped by being asked to do something that doesn't play to his strengths.
  6. "Aberdeen have a smaller budget but they have a squad that’s been together longer. They are battle-hardened in Europe." When did that happen? I wonder if it's worse than just not seeing the things that don't work on the pitch now. He's inventing his own reality.
  7. That's the worst part of it, knowing that there's seemingly nothing that can or will be changed to improve it. Wasting yet more time...
  8. Non-starter - imagine how guilty MW would feel if he sent him home to his mum with a cold?
  9. I think it's probably more than just a lack of the 'hairdryer treatment, that the players are now completely used to their repeated failings being excused time after time. They get a tiny bit more sympathy from me given that so many are asked to do things beyond their talents. As for Weir, I fear his standing at the club and with the fans because of his playing feats make for false optimism. See Sheffield United.
  10. Kiernan must have been a relatively recent convert to central defence - not sure they are mistakes as such when he clearly doesn't know what to do at any given moment. Doesn't know where to stand, when to close down, can't tackle or challenge in any way. Just abysmal - MW is more culpable for picking him.
  11. Who do we imagine doing the kicking? Surely not any of the players who could barely muster the energy or pride to close down and kick an opponent, nor the manager who'd rather wrap them up in cotton wool in case he sends them back with a sniffle.
  12. A squad of misfits that he chose, getting worse while playing to an awful system that he dictates, with basic effort now not even a given. Has he gone yet?
  13. Just to have seen Mohsni lose it and deck one of them after the fifth humiliating backheel would have been a bit cathartic...
  14. Protecting 20 year olds from running about too much, Jesus wept! This, more than any other management-speak jobby that he's shat out since forever, is the most ridiculous. His brain can do gymnastics and invent that gem, yet he can't see Halliday be honking for months, nor that Kiernan can't play football.
  15. Indeed, he admitted it during his prematch interview with RTV, telling us Holt would be on at some point. Not particularly noteworthy last night given that they were all disgraceful, but speaks to the theme of MW's muddled thinking and bizarre choices.
  16. Fanciful nonsense, now fixed - the comeback starts here!
  17. I'm still trying to work out what real benefits second place brings, how it will lessen the embarrassment that the season has been? Continuing to pretend that it's worth something seems like it is just continuing the damage.
  18. Haha! Trying to imagine just one of the cowards having the balls or the coordination to have one land...
  19. He's had time and investment enough not to be humped by a team who barely know each other - again. Only one acceptable reaction to avoid pissing away any more time.
  20. So completely brainless and feeble that they can't even muster a tantrum, get near enough to kick a few opponents...genuinely dislike more than a few now.
  21. Most damning comment yet - Warburton actually took his time to make this pointless, aimless shite.
  22. Is Derek Johnstone at the game? Bigger lump than Bates, more mobile than Waghorn.
