  1. There have been many, many fantastic goalkeepers who have played for this great club of ours and I sometimes think that they do not get enough credit. I remember watching Peter McCloy (the Girvan Lighthouse, Big Gas Meter) as a young boy in the early 70’s and being fascinated by his size and stature in a team that had just won the UEFA Cup Winners Cup. Big Gas meter played for Rangers for over 15yrs - a true legend in my eyes. Other keepers have come and gone, yet when Chris Woods signed in 1986 I could not believe what was happening, (money and Souness aside) we had secured the England No1/ (er..2?) and although he had his faults like not being able to knock Wank macadooda out in that game in 1987, he served us well (Graham Roberts was also an outstanding keeper BTW). When the cricket player “the Goalie” arrived in 1991 we knew we had something special ensuring our history with solid keepers would continue. To be honest Andy Goram was fucking unbelievable and that save against Van Hoodonkey (watch it courtesy of our Bombaybadboy08 on youtube ) still makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. He showed us all what it would be like to play in a Rangers shirt, he didn’t just play for our club - he lived for it. Incidentally, I saw Andy Goram out on the piss in Saltcoats one weekend years ago and he had a Rangers top on that had simply- “N0 1” - on the back, a real legend. Now, when our “goalie” left in the late 90’s I was devastated, this position in our team needed someone strong, dedicated and above all the best. Fuck me did we not go and sign “Der Goalie” Stefan Klos, a player that had only ever really been at one major team, Borussia Dortmund, but showed that the ten years he played with them he was a dedicated individual - something I am sure Advocaat seen in him straight away. Although Klos had his injury worries (did he not fall off a bike or something and was out for ages?) he was keeper that was also outstanding and had many an opposition shaking their head in disbelief. Watch this and you will see he had exceptional technical ability, his game was not always about “one for the camera’s”.Now a lot of us dislike the man inside the Goalkeeper McGregor, but please do not deny his contribution to our history and the many times his saves really counted. He is indeed worth a mention, but sadly only that. So it brings me to our current No1, Neil Alexander and although the wrong side of 30 the following is why, in my eyes, HE will be a true legend. Neil signed in 2008 and knew he was behind McGregor, knew he would need to wait, be second choice. His chances really only came early doors when McGregor fucked up (sending off and a suspension) he showed then that he was a very capable keeper, never complaining, never mouthing off about shit, he only wanted one thing…. to play in goals. He has stuck with us through all the turmoil when I am certain others would have taken him, he has stepped out of the shadow of the likes of Goram, Klos, Woods and McLoy and showed every fucking one of us, what it is truly like to play for Rangers, Neil Alexander – we salute you - not just for your goalkeeping ability but for the man you truly are. (now sign the fucking contract!) We truly are the people.
  2. we should play in any division we are promoted to. We are the greatest team in the world and should be playing in the top league in our country -if that is the fuckin spl then so be it. I have no doubt league reconstruction will come about but until that happens we should power up the leagues get to the fuckin top league and hump every fucker that stuck the knife in. Our footballl will do the talking. If an invittation comes along it will not be just to Rangers remember there will be other teams involved... A refusal or the begging bowl ..will just look petty....... NO SURRENDER
  3. I listened to the interview yesterday morning and have to say that although I have huge respect for our CEO I think he may of made the wrong decision to refuse to attend the hearing. He said that he had nothing to do with this, he was not involved so why should he attend a Mickey Mouse hearing ( to paraphrase)) well come on if there is anyone that should be attending it should be him, he needs to swallow some pride if he wants to win a fight. He has the passion and committment that we need right now, there is some serious shit going down and we have no one in the fight, albeit a mickey mouse court. We are better facing our enemies remember and there is no one better than him right now.
  4. MurrayHater is boring as fuck! says the same thing all the bloody time.... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  5. My Dad was a scouser and followed work up to Scotland and met my Mum. He actually got my mum to sew his Liverpool scarf and his Rangers scarf together (now if only he could have followed that wee business through eh?) My first game was in 1971 aged 6 all i can remember was getting a lift over and walking up those stairs to a mass of bodies all falling about and folk pissing in cans and dropping it at there feet. I think I was more interested in the people around me than the game. That was it ... I was chosen. My Dad is long dead now but the best advice he gave me when I was a young lad following the Gers was to always support your team no matter what....no matter what. ( and never marry a girl who supports Everton as they will give you a bad disease).
  6. I think that with the last few months with what Ally has had to cope with he may of taken his eye off the ball with regards to training etc and we should give him the time to switch back to the job he is paid to do as things at our great club settle down..I for one will be right behind him 110% this season. Remember this is a guy that cut his teeth with our most succesful manager so he has learned a lot and has a lot still to learn. Remember he cant physically get on that park and play his style - watch him at times in the dugout his face bright red - head in hands at some of the players antics... he understands better than most how goals are scored and he IMO would be the last to suggest a punt forward was his style. Let us see what the season brings...... Then the debate can start.....
  7. And went on to say if there was a job on offer he might consider it after turning Rangers round.... Shoots from the hip
  8. Charlie Green with the best line so far.. Stated that he has a letter from the SPL saying that Dundee Utd will be paid by the Spl from the withheld cash. His qoute pulled me off the fence " they must be drunk or incompetent"... No surrender Charlie... No fuckin surrender
  9. er... I have just thought about what I have said whose record would this be then Queens Park? or should we just make up one like "the hugest massiveness fantasmigoricalist away support ever"
  10. Check this Div 3 fixture out! 29th Dec 2012 can this be yet another record? wearedefothepeeepl
  11. Sfunny cos when these "runaways" were wee boys and dreamed of playing football they never thought about money. They dived in goal like Andy Goram, scored like Mark Hately and and did a "greedy" and beat everyone on the park like Laudrup. When they got their chance at the big time - money crept in, cars, status, houses etc.... And they were caught. The problem I have is that these chunts had the opportunity to give a bit back and shat on us. "morgage to pay, families to feed" pish.... how much does fuckin fish fingers cost ffs. They chased greed and forgot all about WHY they wanted to play football.... Now when a player ends up with so much money that they could buy a bloody golden unicorn or drive a space shuttle to training they start to dream again about playing football ....... cos they could play for any team they wish wages optional...
  12. Beer is better in a bottle

  13. second thoughts - fuck off ya annoying wee tit.
  14. OK Jadums..off you go. Please make your point clearly and set out so we can offer some insight into your statement. BTW I don't give a flying fuck how long you have "been on" here an opinion is an opinion.... despite the longevity of your participation.

  18. Saturday 29th December 2012 Queens Park V Rangers Could Queens Park be the new record holder though? although we would still be included...
  19. I think the long ball is part of the game, when used effectively it can be used well on the counter attack etc. Its when it creeps into the team psyche that it is a "first" option we should start worrying. I really don't think it's Ally's game of choice - it is players with poor skills or no confidence to use the midfield that end up humping it up the park, a tactic Broadfoot used too often today as he was unable to think of anything else. Like an earlier poster said teams in the lower divisions I think are used to these tactics - we should be looking for a wide player who can still use our front men as targets but from a better attacking area of the park.
  20. I posted this in another thread so my apologies for "cross posting"( The test of a good player I think starts with the following: 1.A passion 2.A fitness level, second to none 3.An ability (bred, DNA whatever) 4.A brilliant attitude Add to that mix 5.A training regime developed by coaches at the top of their game 6.Facilities that are world class that even a boaby like me could excel with! That, in my opinion, is the test of a good player NOT who he plays against week in week out. At 11yrs old Messi (points 1-4 above) was playing against other 11yr old’s and River Plate knew he was special and took him on (add in points 5 and 6) = arguably the greatest player in the world! I bet you in our travels amongst the lower Scottish leagues we come up against talented Scottish youngsters never on the radar before (points 1-4 above) - and at some point we will say to each other - “he’s not a bad wee player”. I bet you we will see talent that cuntybaws Levein will never see and quite frankly is not the least bit interested in keeping an eye on; as he prefers his addiction to looking at talent in the Arse end of English football, double checking Grannies birth certificates. The talent we see, in our long journey, may indeed end up with us at the Famous Glasgow Rangers (points 5 and 6) and we will be better for it, stronger for it and more humble for it. If these players are picked for Scotland as a result – then I will sing their name till my lungs burst wearing my Scotland top, as they are the result of Glasgow Rangers not the fuckwit in charge of the Scotland team who could not pick the snotter from his nose..... Remember – we are chosen.
