If a player is unemployed after summer 2013 transfer window closes then that player can be signed and registered by Rangers that day. We cant buy anyone as obviously they'd have to be registered before the transfer window closes. This throws up another wee point. Most players contracts, I believe, not ashamed to say Football Manager is part of my thinking here, run out at season end or soon after, maybe early June. Any players we wish to sign on a pre-contract agreement in January 2013 would have to agree to be unemployed with no wages for what could be 3 months. We couldn't be seen to be paying them as I'd be pretty sure thats illegal but perhaps a signing on fee akin to what they would have earned had we signed them on the day their contract is up. I'm sure Charles and his team can do something creative with that. As for types of player needing signed, I think a centre half or two is a must. Cribari just doesn't cut it for me and Perry seems to struggle alongside him. As for Hegarty, today's game showed he's a fair bit to learn but I like him. Still, that's the most important area for me at the moment, if we can shore up a bit the rest of the team should be capable of winning any of the SFL leagues. Keep the wage money for the following summer, try move a couple on and bed in a team that can challenge in whatever the top division may be.
