  1. It was a PR stunt. He's trying to ensure everyone is continuing to talk about Rangers, notice the tabloids have very little on Celtic's new sponsorship deal which they had billed as a 'major announcement'. Charles Green has everyone discussing Rangers again when in reality there is nothing major to discuss at the moment.
  2. Let me get this right, we dont like players not sticking with the club and honouring their contract. Neil Alexander has done so, we approve of this, but his current contract is too high for a 3rd division club? So he should have transferred to the new holding company whilst insisting his wages were cut? Give the guy a break. For what it's worth, £10k plus per week is too high but there isnt a lot Rangers can do about it. I would be of the opinion we should try and trim some off of Alexander's wage whilst offering him at least a 2 year deal. He's 34 now, 36 isnt too old to be playing in goal in the SFL.
  3. The defence is key, for me.. The rest of the team is easily at an SPL standard at full strength but the defence, although improving, needs to improve to get to that standard.
  4. That is a fair point. If the player wants to come then I'm sure they'll come to an agreement easily. I presume it's a TV show you refer to, so no. If you are in any way interested, 6 was often my number playing amateur football as a boy then idolised Barry Ferguson who wore that number, had a few jerseys with it on.
  5. When you buy a player it is effectively buying out their contract, so no, this wouldn't be allowed until 2014.
  6. If a player is unemployed after summer 2013 transfer window closes then that player can be signed and registered by Rangers that day. We cant buy anyone as obviously they'd have to be registered before the transfer window closes. This throws up another wee point. Most players contracts, I believe, not ashamed to say Football Manager is part of my thinking here, run out at season end or soon after, maybe early June. Any players we wish to sign on a pre-contract agreement in January 2013 would have to agree to be unemployed with no wages for what could be 3 months. We couldn't be seen to be paying them as I'd be pretty sure thats illegal but perhaps a signing on fee akin to what they would have earned had we signed them on the day their contract is up. I'm sure Charles and his team can do something creative with that. As for types of player needing signed, I think a centre half or two is a must. Cribari just doesn't cut it for me and Perry seems to struggle alongside him. As for Hegarty, today's game showed he's a fair bit to learn but I like him. Still, that's the most important area for me at the moment, if we can shore up a bit the rest of the team should be capable of winning any of the SFL leagues. Keep the wage money for the following summer, try move a couple on and bed in a team that can challenge in whatever the top division may be.
  7. One of the only bits of composure shown in the second half, seemed to be panicking a bit. As for Walker, don't think he sounds that bad to be honest. Hated the over emphasise on the 'amateur' team today but i suppose thats the telly boys job.
  8. Iain McKenzie bought a signed Rangers jersey at a charity auction I was at a few years back. I'm sure he had a season ticket fot Ibrox at that time. He also bought a laptop, incase you're interested.
