  1. Absolutely bang on. That is the sole reason why the national team, SPL or whatever will never be the same. Its not the coaching thats fucked - its society.
  2. Totally agree about getting a buzz even when they draw. Even in pre season its great to see them get pumped. Anything that makes them unhappy makes me happy.
  3. Fantastic. I'm not one of them, but big up to the 30 000 blue noses!!
  4. Got to remember the guy has played against Brora and Elgin, not exactly tough opposition. He's played very well, looks like an absolute tank and a threat from set pieces. Ally wants to see how he gets on against Bristol City so I'm sure if he passes that test then he'll get a contract. Think he does get a bit of cash for the trial though.
  5. Have you been on the crack pipe? He said he's gutted his time has ended.
  6. Just tweeted saying good luck to RFC, loved the club, gutted his time has ended. Has he been released? Would of released Naismith first before letting him go surely?!!
  7. Nice blog. Enjoyed reading the deadwood bit and the bit about Celtic and the Poppy's. In terms of agreeing with what was written; just about all of it. The 4 fuds.... Darren Cole - Don't know what to make of him playing wise. He's played about 10 games in his senior career. Think that has really stalled his progress a bit. Can seeing him moving on maybe next season but for this coming season he will be okay for cover. His twitter use has been fine in my eyes. Kyle Hutton - Hopefully kicks on this season. In my opinion he's better than Ian Black when he's playing well. He will likely be with us until SPL time comes round so he needs to realize he is fighting for his Rangers career for the next 2 years. Be good if the fans got off his back a bit. Kal Naismith - I don't know why people say we should give him another season. He seems to be a one trick pony in the first team but was shit hot in his youth team days;those are long gone now. Would much rather give game time to Mckay or Aird or even Hemmings. I think he values being a pro Rangers player than actually improving as a player. Plus he is 21 now and isn't going to develop much further IMO. Ross Perry - Had the makings of a half decent centre half when he broke through into the first team but was awful last year. Seems to struggle against target men which is why Cribari, who my gran could beat in the air, can't be his partner in central defence next year. I can see him being in and around the first team for the next 2 seasons though as a stop gap until we can buy bigger and better. Apart from that, I also disagree with Jon Daly. He'll silence a lot of critics next season.
  8. Disagree with Allan, Fyvie and Grimmer. Fyvie played in most of the games during Wigans cup run, and was on the bench for the final. He's a good player and now a fellow Scotsman Coyle in charge it will assist his chances of getting into the first team, plus the fact that they will be in the championship next season. Grimmer is now captain of the 19s at Fulham, just turned 18 aswell. He is a future Scotland defender for sure. Got to agree with Goodwillie and Griffiths though, although I can see Griffiths scoring a few goals for Wolves next season. In terms of our players, did we ever get a fee for Wilson? I think it was 2.5 million or something. Looked solid next to Davie weir but was never going to progress to a Liverpool first team. Have we had any other youngsters go down south? Can't think of anyone of the top of my head.
  9. Please tell me Kal Naismith hasn't semi recently signed a 2 year deal? He is absolutely awful. Wise to give Mitchell a 1 year deal IMO, he's 21 so not exactly a 'kid' anymore and it will push him to produce performances like he did at the end of last season, week in week out.
  10. We need both. Having experienced players to compliment young talent like Clark and Mckay is very important in these divisions. There is some monsterous centre halfs in the SFL and all to often this season we've had players bullied off the ball. I think its a wise move bringing in a couple of battlers for the next 2 season as opposed a squad of youngsters. Great that the youngsters are getting a chance but all the burden to be put on them is unfair. Daly is no maestro but with him and big lee at opposite ends of the park showing the leadership and determination they typically do, will hopefully rub off on the rest of the squad.
  11. If Football Manager is anything to go by, we should hold onto Faure becomes a good centre half. I think he could be half decent anyway. Didn't know Andy Mitchell was at Man City for years before he came to us in 2011 either.
  12. Daly will be a good signing. Essentially another McCulloch that will be a big postive presence in the dressing room, and be able to play centre half and up front. He's only turned 30 this year remember, big Lee is 34. Will do till we get back to the SPL.
  13. Really disappointed with the blame the manager bandwagon. People don't realize how long and un-glamorous the 3/4 rebuilding years would be. Ally needs a couple of consecutive full seasons at the top flight under his belt before he can be truly judged. Remember he's had the perfect teacher for building a team with very limited funds in Walter. If you look at his recent signings - Juan Ortiz - Awful. Less said the better Carlos Bocanegra - Great centre half, especially for SPL Dorin Goain - Never been totally convinced, either awful or brilliant Alejandro Bedoya - Looked promising, time cut short Mervan Celik - Looked promising, again time cut short, now playing alongside Vlad Weiss for Pescara and scored a few goals Matt Mckay - Was always going to be backup on cheap wages coming from the A League ------------------------ This season Dean Sheils, Fran Sandaza and Ian Black were all, you would of thought, no brainers to sign at the start of the season. They haven't turned out at all like we'd of hoped okay fine but when Shiels is fit he is a quality player and Ian Black can hopefully get back to form next season. Faure, Aregeyou and Cribari were just bodies to fill the shirt. I think Faure can be more than that though,I see a half decent player in there somewhere.
