  1. So the equivalent of billboard advertising then - never knew that.
  2. That was 20 years ago mate and Murray is not involved. Just seems we are worried about buying tickets selling to UK based bears when we can make millions on selling merchandise to a global market and its not being looked at. If Mike Ashley comes in he will make millions instead. Why wouldn't we want to do that?
  3. It wouldn't though - that is my point. Its like the fighting fund - look for help/assistance from bluenoses and its all there. All of the factories that make strips make the other gear as well - they are apparel manufacturers, rather than strip manufacturers. With regard to "we did that 10 years ago", when you look at how the previous regime fucked us over at every turn, are you surprised that they took all the cash for themselves when the strips were sold and none of it went into paying for a decent product? (Bain's pockets were filled every time we made an order) If you spend 10 US dollars in Thailand for a strip (wholesale) you get great quality. Thats is a fact.
  4. We have access to any of the factories that NIKE/UMBRO/ADIDAS use in Indonesia/Thailand for example - we go there with an order as happens just now. Why wouldn't we do that? We use the brand owners for that step just now, who then sell to the distributors. That is the easiest part of the deal TBH.
  5. The other thread about Puma making taking over from Umbro got me thinking about why Rangers don't just make their own strips. With the Umbro/JJB deal we were getting about 3.5 million per annum (someone correct me if this is wrong). Strips cost about 6 quid to make. They then get sold to the distributors for about 22 quid - the profit is the brand owners cut. The distributor like Sports Direct / JJB then sell them for 40 to 50 quid and that is their profit. If we manufactured and sold them ourselves we could take the full whack ourselves. This would be strips that are brandless. My information is that Umbro was getting about 80,000 shirts made for Rangers. This is not a great amount and would suggest the lack of exposure we have is affecting sales. Other teams like Newcastle are getting 200,000 plus made. Where are we going so far wrong? With someone actually doing their homework and getting things moving we could sell double that amount, and with the extra merchandising I am sure we could make 6 to 7 million a year clear quite easily. Add a few quid from sponsors and we would be looking good. Thoughts?
  6. Ally McCoist put it forward for CW. Mental but true. I suppose he felt that he was going to do a job for us / be an integral part of the team.
  7. That is applicabe to some other forums as well
  8. The tarriers have been under reporting their attendance's since time began, thus not paying tax. Just one of the points unreported during our continued attacks.
  9. That wouldn't be an investment then, that would a sale of assets which is obviously different, and I assume not one that any of us would want.
  10. I still don't understand why Green hasn't been 100% transparent. With info like this doing the rounds it just adds to the stress!!
  11. Bain, Murray, Walter and our manager used to be close. No idea where they stand now in relation to each other.
  12. The tarriers will do anything to fuck us over, including expanding their payroll, if you know what I mean. It happens everywhere, and Scotland is no different.
  13. Does Ally having ownership count as fan ownership? Edit: sp
  14. Still in agreement with him that fan ownership is the only long term viable option. The main problem with the Trust is the cocks running it, rather than the ideology behind it, thus my support for the fact that we should still aim for that, with the time now being our best chance due to the fact that our value is at its lowest. Will I back the Trust proposition ready to be released? Not if the same bellends are involved, but thats got nowt to do with not wanting US to own it. Do I trust Green - No. Can I understand why punters are desperate to get ST's and get back to the football rather than all the shit we have been subjected to? Of course. The majority of guys I spoke to yesterday when I was in town for a few ales still do not trust him. I know the RM direction is to support him but I am not hearing that from my club at all, and as I say, the other guys I have called since I came back feel the same. I am torn to be honest.
  15. He is a typical tarrier wank. Standard behaviour for all of them.
  16. Going with the majority at the RSC at this time, so no just now. Not renewing doesn't mean that I won't buy tickets though. It's not long ago that this was the norm anyway as the older bears on here will remember.
  17. The reason we are in the position we are in is because of the crap that we have swallowed for years. Those days should be left behind us for good. Now is the time to stand up and say NO. We fought hard to win those trophies and can never ever give them up. Rumour is Ally will walk if Green bends over for the SPL - be interesting to see what happens then.
  18. Green will cave and agree to it to get the licence. Then he will need to move to the moon.
  19. No company will pay more money than they have to.
  20. To answer your question - I won't miss them at all. I am sick to the back teeth of the fenians and the SPL as a whole and am delighted that we get a break from them. I struggle to read anything about these fuckers, when I used to read about Kille and Motherwell regularly to see what was happening. I never thought I would have seen the day, but fuck them all.
  21. On Tuesday morning I had heard that Ally was not going to agree to any sanctions no matter what. That being case, who did? Edit: and why?
