  1. Selective California ? I think it most readers of this thread will find its you who is being selective.... fire away at the points you believe to be unanswered. And in the meantime as you are doing so....tell me is it okay for the press to make humour out of the Ibrox Disaster ?
  2. You seem to struggling now ...what points have I ignored ? You have asked why Rangers fans boo FOS ? You tell me...I dont know. All I can see on this thread is you making sweeping comments as to the apparent bigotry of Rangers supporters/Rangers football club...and have been prepared to defend that stance despite viable arguements to the contrary. Im glad to see you have reverted back to snide little comments....always the sign of a desperate man.
  3. If he did come...how long before Ally bedded Posh ?
  4. "Was N.Ireland part of Britain hundreds of years ago?" You have completely lost me on that one.
  5. Foreign Flag ? You really take the biscuit with that comment.
  6. Irish troubles...? Perhaps I should add geography to the history books you told me to read. I thought Ulster was part of Great Britain. Belfast is the second biggest Rangers supporting city...harldy surprising that Red Hand Flags are in evidence at Ibrox.
  7. I dont believe anywhere on this thread any bear has claimed there is not a problem with sectarian singing. However the biggest "joke" I have seen so far in this thread is this.... "Yes Rangers have protestant connections - relating mainly to the sectarian signing policy, which pandered the bigots in the past." So its nothing to do with the church parades which used to set off from Ibrox...its nothing to do Boys Brigade lads being used as ball boys....its nothing to do with Rangers playing charity matches to raise money for Protestant causes...its nothin to do with one of our founder members being an Ulster Scot ? ? ? ? And to think you told me to read the history books.
  8. I think it will take him about 5 minutes to sort out that dressing room.
  9. No I dont. You are labelling songs as sectarian which have been placed before Scottish Courts and declared not so. You seem to make no distinction between singing songs which are traditonal and define identity and songs that are sectarian. You also seem to support the notion that promoting ones faith or religion is akin to supporting sectarian views. The Sash and Derry's Walls for example are not on the banned list at Ibrox.
  10. Im taking it these are the handfulls of catholic players who played, round about 15 in decades, one being that S.African players? Mind reading an article how a couple of players had to hide their religion due to what the reaction of the fans would be. You surely cant be denying the siging policy was present in the past. I mind a quote from Jock Stein - "I'll just sign all the good protestant players, as I know Rangers wont sign the good catholic ones" (something along them lines) Perhaps you should not have told me to read those history books
  11. Justiston You crack me up. You have gone on and on about bigotry within our club....and when I have managed to answer your questions you wish to declare it a non serious problem ? Careful now...if you swerve any more you will hit yourself on the way back.
  12. Souness put an end to it ? Better tell guys like Archie Kyle... Doc Kilvachian (who played for both Rangers & Celtic)...Don Kitchenbrand...Lawrie Reilly (who sadly passed away last year) to name but a few...that they were apparently not Catholics then.
  13. The point I am making is that Rangers football club have embraced a Protestant identity for many years.....the club in an official capacity have welcomed that...therefore it should come as no surprise when supporters sing songs reflecting that tradition. As for the signing of Catholics... was our former manager not a Catholic ? Was one of our recent Captains not a catholic ? Was one of our most popular foreign players Jorg Albertz not a Catholic ?
  14. So when Rangers played charity matches to raise funds for Orange Halls...was that bigotted ?
  15. Justiston, I make it a habit of refusing to engage in slating a fellow bear...so if you want to make snide little cheap remarks...go ahead but you will be on your own. Correct me if Im wrong here...but are you saying that having a Protestant identity is bigotted ?
  16. Are you trying to talk down on me by referring to me as "son" ? Given that the Sash has been placed in front of the Scottish Courts and declared not to be sectarian...I find it hard how you make the connection with "religious problems" Tell me Justiston...would you confirm or deny that our club has a Protestant identity ?
  17. So its acceptable for Scotland fans to sing about a battle 800 years ago....but its unacceptable for Rangers to sing about a battle 300 years ago ?
  18. Justiston..I wish you would stop doing this.... God Save the Queen is the National Anthem.
  19. Well Justiston.....seeing as you seem to have such an issue with football supporters singing about historical battles....tell me have you written to the SFA asking them to stop playing Flower of Scotland before Scotland matches ?
  20. I detest him with a vengenace. I lodged a complaint against him with the press complaints commission.
  21. WEATHERGIRLS?..ALLPORT & RANGERS Do you remember weathergirl Kirsty McCabe referring to Ibrox Park as ?Castle Greyskull?. A no. of outraged Bears contacted the BBC to make a complaint regarding this. Some suggested we were over the top and should ignore it. Well were we over the top ? And this is where Mr Allport fits in. Who the hell is Allport you may ask ? Well among other things?Allport was the psychologist who analysed the process which allowed 6 million Jews to be exterminated in the Nazi genocide. Allport identified that there were 5 ways (Antilocution, Avoidance, Discrimination, Physical Attack, Extermination) now known as Allports Scale, which allowed prejudice to manifest itself. Each level included a wide range of behaviour which could include name calling, jokes, stereotyping, through to discrimination, refusal of service?denial of opportunity?..physical assaults eventually reaching the far end of the scale?that of extermination. But lets just pause here for the briefest of moments?.lets not agree with what is written just because I?m a fellow Bear?..lets put Allports Scale to the test and see if there really is something going on which justifies becoming outraged at a weathergirls jibe. Name calling/stereo typing/jokes?.well lets start with the term ?h**? . Numerous complaints have been made to a wide area of the media regarding the use of this term?.but it is still used. I don?t need to go into the various examples?we are all well aware?.or how about ?Dirty Orange Bastards? (also known as ?DOB?s?)?step forward Mr Lennon or Mr Leckie?..without fear of prosecution I may add. Of course any objection to this mocking is met with stout resistance. After all we are seeking to demonise a group of people?to portray them as something less than worthless?so perish the thought they have a voice or object to being victimised. Perhaps then you begin to understand the venom of Graham Spiers attacks and his regular and frequent attempts to portray Rangers supporters who stand up for themselves as ?paranoid besrekers?. Remember what Allport said? ?denial of opportunity?. To understand how far up the scale we are with regard to the demonising of Rangers Supporters by use of jokes I give you further proof. Ron McKays comments in the Sunday a Herald a few years ago where he mocked the Ibrox Disaster must surely be a benchmark as to how far we have come. Ask yourselves ?when did you ever hear of the Heysel Stadium/Bradford Fire/Hillsborough ever being the subject of a journo?s jokes ? And then of course there is the ridiculing of the good. The card display at the Milan game was outstanding?..yet how is it described?.? It is likened to a Nuremberg Rally. And yet only a few weeks later the ?Prime Minister in waiting? urges us all to show more pride in the Union Flag. Guess what Gordon?.apparently you are a Nazi for that comment. But guess what it gets worse. Aberdeen fans mocking the Ibrox Disaster are reported as singing ?Nice One Jimmy??.by the same journalist who describes Ranger fans as being responsible for a ?stream of sectarian bile?. If you can?t ridicule?then just make up lies. Or have we moved onto Discrimination ? Lets take 2 videos. Donald Findlay ?and of course Hartson & Pearson. Ask yourselves?was the reporting of these 2 videos balanced?impartial?fair ? The BBC didn?t think the Hartson/Pearson video even warranted a report. Yet when a young Blue Peter presenter mentioned the flag of her country she was forced by the BBC to issue an apology and reprimanded. Anyone think if she had been from anywhere other than Northern Ireland this would never have happened ? Me neither. And those who think that this discrimination is all in the head?.go and get a second opinion. Ask some of the bears arrested on their last visit to Parkhead whether they thought they were discriminated against?. as they were led away for committing sectarian offences whilst the sounds of ?sad Orange bastard? rang in their ears from 50,000 people apparently above the law that day. And how is it that the sectarian charity Nil By Mouth?seem to ignore the sectarian murder of Rangers supporters ? Why do they remain silent on this issue when they condemn the sectarian murder of Celtic supporters. ? Is this just discrimination or have we reached the final stage of Allports scale?.extermination ? Where the murder of a Rangers supporter is treated differently to the murder of a Celtic supporter and is not even mentioned. So we have reached the far end of the scale?.I would like to think that what is written is my paranoia?my bias?.my blue tinted specs. But where the arguments are supported by facts it becomes alarming. Judge for yourselves?.you are all free thinking. RANGERS FOREVER
  22. You are a Rangers fan. In the eyes of many you are therefore a sectarian bigot. A troglodyte (G Spiers). When we made a magnificent card display of our National Flags it is compared to a Nazi Rally. As a club and a Support we are crying out for a dcent defence in the media. I could go on all night. Spot on Manticore.... California sorry but I relly cant get my head around your last comment...but let me give you a couple of examples of vitriolic press attacks... Ron McKay (Sunday Herald ...3 days before the unveiling of the memorial statue) "I see they are erecting a statue of Greigie outside Ibrox to commemorate the disaster...in my opinion his time as manager wasn't that bad" Speirs "thousands of Rangers fans making monkey noises at Bobo Balde"...when challenged repeatedly it became hundreds and then eventually "a handful" Or Ian Archer's article a few years ago suggesting Moses McNeil only founded Rangers as a means of generating money selling football shirts. And these are only the tip of the iceberg. Before you say we should just ignore the press... cast your mind back to last season when the pre-season friendly with Bolton was cancelled because the Police believed crowd trouble would ensue.... Perhaps SDM is too busy to challenge these lies personally...but he should employ a PR consultant to deal with them. Some of these lies are causing real damage to our club...and are an affront to the many bears who give up there time and money to follow follow.
  23. I have no need to take anything out of the sand....I am well aware of many of the issues...but its clear not all are. Furthermore some of the issues are less than 6 years old.
