  1. My freind the man who says he cares and loves RFC is the 5th richest man in Scotland...now if you were that man what would you do ?????????????? He is the most devious man ever to chair RFC....Yes I know he spent lots of dosh in the 90s but that should not let him off the hook....the supporters also put money into the club but he is responsible for delivering for the fans. The standards for RFC should never be allowed to drop and thats what he has done...its totally unacceptable except for the guys who have their heads stuck in the sand (beer) Yes but it was not HIS dosh to spend Fish.....hence our ?80 million debt. The problem with us is that we tend to view our opinions as pro or anti Sir David Murray. Perhaps those Bears who label other Bears who criticise SDM as "anti-Murray" should have a long hard look at some of the facts... We have guys like Dado's bandage on here stating they will never crticise SDM. Why not is my question ? I am sick to death of Bears who keep churning out about SDM ploughing money into the club...when will you get it ?.....he hasn't !....I get a copy of the accounts every year and believe me does not plough money into the club. There is a belief that SDM is wonderful because he gave us NIAR. Yes he did but at a heavy price... financing managers with money which Rangers quite simply did not have. Leading us to the brink of financial ruin is not the kind of performance I am looking for from the Rangers chairman...particularly one acreditted as being one of the most successful buisinessmen in Scotland. As davie said on another thread on here (Anti-Murray posters disappear) SDM has done very well with his investment of Rangers. He bought the club for ?6 million and it now has a value in the region of ?25/26 million. I once heard SDM being interviewed on radio and asked about the debt...by this time it was public knowldge and of much concern....he stated that much of the debt was accumulated with the stadium re-development. Sorry but thats simply not true...since he took stewardship at our club the only re-development has been the Club Deck. At the height of our public woes regarding finances...SDM suddenly disappeared off the radar....replacing him with the puppet McLelland. Hardly what we needed at that particular time. The more cynical would suggest he just didnt want to take the flack. My greatest disappointment with SDM however has nothing to do with finance...it concerns the defence (or lack of it) of our club and its traditions in the face of an increasingly hostile media. He has allowed Rangers haters in the press free reign to demonise our club and its supporters without ever doing anything to defend the club other than issue a statement "if it offends dont buy it". It says it all to me that when Ron Mckay mocked the Ibrox disaster in the Sunday Herald, just before the unveiling of the statue, the same newspapers still had huge advertising billboards around Ibrox. I am neither pro or anti SDM....I am only pro-Rangers. If he does good for Rangers I will acknowledge that...if he fails I will criticise. Only time will tell whether he has been good...because the way thing are at present...his report card is reading 4/10...Must do better.
  2. Spot on Airdriebear....we should not ask people to "disappear" just because the things they say may not sit comfortably for some.
  3. http://rangersmediaforum.com/index.php?showtopic=4032
  4. Id be happy if they stepped in for Hartley and we got Brown/Thomson/Gow. But you are right Davie....we need to exercise some financial muscle and get in some key players....I do hope SDM finds cash as this really is a necessity
  5. I think it will depend Cooper on the result of the investigation being carried out by Rangers into his role in the PLG demise. There is no doubt though...SDM is raging with him....but I think much will depend on the finances. Its not always easy to do the right thing when you are financially bereft.
  6. Of course they are on MIM accounts.....Rangers are a company owned by Murray. As a Rangers shareholder I receive the yearly accounts for the club....no-where on the balance sheet does it say money donated by David Murray. Lets nail something here and now....any money made available to Rangers FC from MIM has been in the form of a loan....never a handout. The only time I am aware of SDM personally plunging money into Rangers was when he underwrote the latest share issue.....and lets not forget that was to clear debts which were allowed to accumulate during the SDM era. I neither love or loathe Sir David Murray...but lets keep things factual....he has not ploughed money into Rangers time and time again.
  7. Well Cooper maybe you could explain this to me..... If he put his hand in his pocket time and time again for Rangers.....how did Rangers FC end up with debts in the region of ?80 million ?
  8. How many times were we told they were happy to work with PLG Put yer head back in the sand please Er I was talking about the players from the Scotland Squad..... Now Fish....with regard to heads....
  9. He certainly has the ability....the problem is he rarely produces it. He is one of the few players in our squad who have the abilty to be a match winner however. Spose it all depends on the new manager's plans and potential targets.
  10. Well there are obviously a few concerns which ahve been well versed on here....however there are some plus factors as well. Wattie has demonstrated via the Scotland job he is capable of lifting a squad in the doldrums...lacking in confidence etc and bringing some confidence and organistion. Furthermore he has had the opportunity to see at first hand the best of Scotland's talent...many of the players know him and would be happy to work with him....which may give us some advantages in the transfer market. A name which springs to mind for instance would be McFadden...whereas I think the likes of Gary O'Connor would be a no no after he left Scotland in the lurch by his non appearance.
  11. Pretty pathetic that Nvager suggesting Alba is a tim.....just because you dont happen to agree with his views. Alba and I are known to each other....in fact I think we would probably agree that we have rarely agreed in the past.... Nonetheless I still have the courtesy as a fellow Bear to respect his opinions. I dont think there can be any bigger insult than to suggest a genuine bear is a tim.
  12. God another one!How many agents are opperating on our forum now-a days? :ph43r: Agent ? Operating ? Is that because my opinion on this does not concur with yours ? Is that because I care for the facts of the matter rather than blind worship of our best player regardless of his flaws as a human being ? Better call the chairman an agent as well ...he is similarly unchuffed with Barry...
  13. Well to be honest I think he has a very valid point... And the fact that some.. even on this thread... still reckon he may be captain again only serves to justify his concerns
  14. "Both parties played the press card here not just BF " Very true. Should they both suffer the same fate ?
  15. On SSN last night - Barry Ferguson to be investigated by Rangers for his role in the demise of PLG. I dont think this is over yet Bears......
  16. Excellent summary evens... I would just add I think the failuire of his signings was one of the major reasons for his failing....whether that was down to lack of cash available we will probably never know.
  17. A very good article which underlines the concerns many Bears have about what appears to be in some quarters the "confirmed" choice. Two of my all time heroes failed in these circumstances....Jock Wallace on his return for a second time and John Greig when he took the managers role with no experience. I think Rangers are far too big a club to have an untested manager at the helm irrespective of how big a name he was for the club.
  18. This may surprise you Ace....but I share the concerns you have expressed. My own choice would have been Billy Davies
  19. What you say regarding the argument about the importance of the captaincy i fully agree with. PLG should never have made the comment that the captaincy wasn't important in France and equally Barry should not have responded like he did when the question was posed. I think that the press were kept informed for too much on what was happening between the two but i also think that PLG may have used this Captaincy incident as a way out and something that could get him out without ruining his reputation. Whether he orchestrated it or not is up for debate and for another thread but to be honest i think Barry has conducted himself well apart from the comment about the captaincy. I respect the fact that you are willing to have a reasonable debate and are not blinded by hatred of Barry like some other members. (beer1) Contrary to what some on here may think BIC...BF is my favourite Rangers player by a country mile...however the facts which I have seen to date...some of which are irrefutable...have brought me to the position that I think that both manager and captain have failed to uphold the standards of Rangers Football Club...hence my stance. But yes....good time for a cyber pint (beer1)
