Will we put on a better performance tomorrow?
Grin'nBEARit replied to BerryLad's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
I'm not sure they'll open up and go for it. I think they'll keep it tight again knowing that if they don't concede then even a goal in the 89th minute will take it to extra time. We need to create more and bury any chance we get. -
Want to see a few more myself and didn't expect to have 9 or 10 in for the first game. But what surprised me is, I expected to be underwhelmed by the team selections for the first few games, looking at the suggested line up for Thurs I feel quite possitive.

Susprisingly I quite like that. I was hoping to see a team of 9 or 10 new players, but with just 5 that looks ok.

The Official Welcome to Rangers fc, Bruno Alves!

Might be his best days are behind him, but he's still good enough to play for his country so I suspect he's still got plenty to offer -
My initial thought was getting rid of that lot and getting over £7m would be good business. But as others have said, it's a load of Barry

We can blame the manager all day long....
Grin'nBEARit replied to AlCapone's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
His calibre isn't the issue, it's his attitude and intransigence. He's a "One plan Dan" He hasn't got the players to make his one plan work, so he appears to be saying "give me the players and I'll give you a winning team. But what if we can't afford the players he needs and what do we do with those we already have -
I am demanding that he does the best he can with the resources at his disposal, however meagre they may be. Do you think he's allowing the current group to play to their strengths? If we're getting 10 or 12 new first team players in the next 2 or 3 weeks then fine. But it appears to me that the current squad will supply the majority of the first team for the start of the season and Pedro has chucked it, in terms of trying to get a performance out of them. Not a good situation
-
If you want to make comparrisons with Them, try this one. The that gubbed us 5-1 had only ONE player in it that Brenda signed. The rest were already there. OK he took over a team that won the league, but they were ordinary. Of course Pedro might do better when he gets his own players in. But he is the manager and it's his job to manage with what he's got. All of the players currently at Ibrox are HIS players and he had to get the best he can out of them. But he's simply not doing that.

Wish I knew more as it seems to me the bulk of the investment next season will be our Season Ticket money. It would be nice to know that we have other sources of investment. Sadly I am not privy to this information. -

I'm just being realistic (pessimistic?) about the amount of money we'll have and worry that we might spread it too thin. -

Yep. Why goad Aberdeen by telling them they're on the decline, just before we play them. I realise the haven't won at our place in 26 years, but there's no need to give them extra motivation. Also last summer we brought in 11 players including a fairly hefty fee for Joe Garner. We can't afford to try and stretch our budget so far. Snap up 5 or 6 good players on free transfers but good wages. -

The comments about Aberdeen begining a downward spiral are a slight worry. It's as if we're lining up a statement along the lines of "sorry we didn't have the funds to improve as much as we wanted to. But don't worry Aberdeen are getting worse, so it'll all work out ok" If we haven't got a sizeable budget for next season I'd rather it went on wages for free transfers, than try to split it between wages and transfer fees. -

Love big Clint Hill, but I'd be treating the next few games as Europa warm ups. So I'd like us just to use the players we'll have at the end of June, so I wouldn' have Toral in either
