  1. All players plus points and a few scare moments but no doubting committment and hunger was there tonight. bassey stole show for me and proved ability to play centre back. Very honourable mention to goldson, Morelos and barisic. Folk think McGregor is finished but my lord, maybe only nine birds tonight

There was just something magical about watching the World cup as a nipper back then. 78 is the first one I remember.

Exotic is a good description as to how it felt watching Scotland at the Wold cup on the tv in those days with the picture not the best and the sound quality made you realise just how far away it was.

Listening to Archie MacPherson's commentary, seeing all those famous players live on tv for the first time as there was practically no live football back then.

The black and white balls they used in Argentina 78 just looked better than the modern equivalent for some reason. You could see the spin of the ball better during slow motion replays as they showed it hitting the back of the net.......usually ours

The ticker tape, the female Brazil fans , believing we were going to win it.........until we played our first game that is :megaanguish:

Just doesn't feel the same these days, the game's lost it's soul. Money has totally fucked it.

They remain very fond (not sure how accurate) memories none the less.

Italia 90, nessun dorma and Toto schillachi. Some memories

If Halliday had shown the same fight when he was on the pitch as he did when he was subbed he'd have played till the final whistle

Definitely. Rangers man? Couldn't lay a glove. Bye bye andy, despite you being shite your indiscipline was a disgrace. Would sack every player involved

So he was going straight from school to the game without going home to get changed / have dinner then head to the game (if I'm reading that correctly)

No school lunch or lunch money or did he spend his lunch money on the ticket?

Maybe his maw wasn't aware he was going and is used to him rolling in from school at whatever time at night, but see's a wee opportunity here for FB likes :sarcasm:

Regardless some on here would pump it. Babn?

I probably like Fury the most out of them just now but it depends if he comes back the same as he went out, the Fury that beat Klitschko beats both of them with the good old jabfest.

Bellew or haye could possibly beat wilder. I think whyte would also have a great chance. Wilder has power in those long levers but no footwork or defence and even in attack is so reckless. A decentish boxer puts him away

Watched the fight this morning, was a good fight but a younger fitter guy than Ortiz finishes that fight during the 7th and 8th that was his undoing in the end, dont see Wilder doing much against AJ.

Bang on. Wilder is garbage. Easy fight for Joshua or fury and I don't like either of them

Best player I've seen play for us, Gazza was a genius but Laudrups turn of pace, skill, first touch was sublime, an absolute gentleman off the park as well.Loved Coop and Baxter also but still think Laudrup had the edge.

    Agreed

Just a wee update to say my gran passed away this evening.

She was some lady who even last week was asking about the Rangers results and how we were doing. Put up one hell of a fight.

Condolences DrFunke. Take comfort in the time you had and the legacy she left. Easy to say just now but it will get better in time. Lost mine to same thing in 2016. Horrible disease

My sister lives in Bridge of Allan, Butcher,Gary Stevens and a few others lived there, Colin Hendry lived right round the corner from her, he had a black wrought iron  fence all round his house with hand painted thistles as the finials( it was a long fence someone must have been painting them for weeks)

Cool story bro. Changed my life

  10. He does have something better than championship, what it is baffles me. When fans say his dad would be better now they are right. Your a fucking yorkshireman. Show some bollocks. His dad raged about with only thought to try and kick gazza. He didn't succeed but hats off for commitment. Josh must take after the mother's side

  11. Used to get the fear anytime he was near the ball. That has gone now and I see him as a dependable defender who is in the team on merit. Young defenders will make mistakes as they go along but he is making less than a lot of other more lauded young centre halfs. Boys no nonsense which is what a defender should be

I find the Ally bashing threads tiresome.

As a player he was my hero. As a manager he caused a few breakdowns in the sopranos residence.

Still wouldn't walk by him in the street, a Rangers legend.

    100% agree
