Imo you should need to spend millions every single season to win diddy trophies in Scotland and be at least able to avoid humiliation in Europe, however the fact we had none to spend this season was down to Walter more than anyone. He had plenty of money and he wasted most of it, Lafferty £3.5 mill, Edu £2 mill(didn't need another centre mid), Mculloch £2.5 mill and Velicka £1 mill. Wally then led us to defeat to Hearts reserves meaning we lost out on Chamions League money last year. Wally's cheerleaders on here and in the press will point to a lack of funds but he constructed this squad and wasted money knowing funds were tight, I find it almost astounding that people will point to us being slightly better than an atrocious Celtic as vindication of Wally returning. nvager 498 Posted October 20, 2009 Share Posted October 20, 2009 Certainly spent a bunch on three strikers when we needed a CH before Kaunas and a midfield. certainly should have brought in a CH before the oh so speedy Rothen. yes WS has been a mixed bag. good enough for the SPL or backs to the wall in Europe, but if not back to the wall defending then we are shit in Europe.
