I've not even looked through the whole thread I proceeded straight to last page but I can imagine what is is previous pages. But anyway, my view is that as WVB says we started out as a bunch of teenages wanting to start up a football team and we have grown and so has the support. I dont care why you support Rangers, if its for football reasons only thats fine, if its for the football and also as a way of expressing your protestant identity, heritage etc then I'm all for that, all that matters is you are a bear. How people choose to support Rangers is up to them. We are not sheep who go with what the hierarchy say unlike fans of certain other teams, we think for ourselves and can make our own minds up, surely these are traits of protestantism and thats how it should be. The protestant heritage is something to be celebrated not something to be embarresed about especially as it has had such a huge impact on the club and the support. Those who dont like it are not obliged to like but should surely respect it anyway.

Protestantism is first and foremost a Religion, which would involve attending a Church of some description.

Quite alot of people who claim to be Protestant haven't attended a Church in years, outwidth weddings etc..
