This is from their website:"The Glasgow Rangers Supporters Club of Sydney Next meeting: Rangers Vs Celtic (live) Sunday 2 January KO 11:45pm Location: Top Level Jacksons on George 176 George Street, The Rocks, Sydney Come and join your fellow Bears in our new location at the Rocks." Hopefully we will see a couple of hundred for the game. I thought The Score Bar at Star City was a great venue but unfortunately due to renovations at the casino, it shut down. Thanks in advanceWell the game is on LIVE @ Setanta at 06.40am- 3rd March. seeing as how Jacksons on George is a 24hour pub, I presume they will be showing it live.Their phone # is 9247 2727 if phoning from NSW...or (02) 9247 2727 if phoning from outside NSW, and they will tell you the details. BeautifulSeas 10 Posted February 24, 2011 Author Share Posted February 24, 2011 I got this through Facebook.Fellow Bears, I think everyone that turned up last night will agree that it was a poor night all round, especially not helped by the small band of numptys at the bar. For the last 15 years, the club has had a dedicated bar where we could watch the games without interruption from other supporters. As many of you would know, our last venue, The Score Bar, closed due to the Casino renovations. Since that time, we have tried to find a venue which has a 24 hour licence (given most of the games at odd hours in Sydney, i.e. Sunday night/Monday mornings); willing to open its doors as we need it; has a Setanta subscription and willing to put up with a noisy football crowd. Put all that together and there's not a lot of options. The reason for the change from Jacksons was that the comments I received back were that it was too fragmented, the main section was too smokey and the bar prices were too high. We'll try to contact a few bars over the next week or so to see if we can find something more suitable.
