Armin Veh Sacked

Recommended Posts

Hamburg have announced that they have parted company with coach Armin Veh.

HSV have decided that it is time to get rid of the 50-year-old after they succumbed to a 6-0 hammering by Bayern Munich in the German Bundesliga on Saturday.

The result means that Hamburg are now in eighth place in the league standings with 37 points from 26 matches, six points adrift of a European place.

Veh was appointed the coach of the former German champions in May 2010 but has ultimately failed to impress with the club struggling for a place in next season's European competitions.

It was announced last week that Veh's contract would be terminated at the end of the season although the club have acted to remove the German from his position with immediate effect.

Michael Oenning will now take over the coaching responsibilities of the first-team, while Veh's assistant Reiner Geyer has also left the club.

Brutal result. Would be interesting to hear from ElbmachtHSV if he sees this.

Doesn't help when you lose interest in coaching either. Will be interesting to see if Veh takes up another job in management?

Wouldn't be surprised if he's been sacked at every club he has been at!?
