Lennon signs new deal

But he still aint irish?

Its hardly a new contract, theyd still pay him fuck awl compo if he was to be sacked , mug

NEIL LENNON has finally clinched a new deal to stay on as Celtic boss.

The Hoops gaffer has agreed terms on a one-year rolling contract, doubling the length of his existing six-month agreement.

A deal thrashed out between Lennon's advisors and Hoops powerbroker Peter Lawwell was rubber-stamped last night.

The Irishman flew in from Portugal to put pen to paper. The news will delight Celtic fans, who have been calling for Lenny to be rewarded with a more lucrative contract for months.

He'll land a bumper wage rise with the deal and it will also be a huge relief to supporters who feared death threats might force him to quit.

Fans rallied behind the beleaguered boss after he was sent bullets and bombs through the post.

But Lennon insisted he should only be rewarded for progress on the park rather than emotional ties.

Despite missing out on the SPL title he ended the season on a high by winning the Scottish Cup.

He will now be given the chance to build on the job he did last season after getting the green light.

A close friend said: "It's great news for Neil and well deserved.

"He just wanted the chance to prove he was up to the job and this proves he is.

"Neil feels like he's only getting started so to get the chance of a new deal will be massive."

Lenny's backroom team of Johan Mjallby, Alan Thompson and Garry Parker will now also agree new terms.

And, as we revealed last week, now that Lennon's future has been sorted the club will look to tie down skipper Scott Brown on a new long-term deal.

Lennon hasn't given up hope of landing Omer Damari despite a bidding war breaking out.

He was poised to spend £1.7million on the striker but Maccabi Petah Tikva have now told rivals Maccabi Haifa that the 22-year-old won't be sold for less than 3m Euros, almost double what Celts were willing to pay.

Petah Tikva chairman Amos Luzon said: "That figure will remain the same for any other interested club."

So Neil Lennon doesn't win the league, is awful in Europe, gets into serious disciplinary trouble yet gets a pay rise. Interesting. Ad

I guess Ally is a mug too? Or Pep Guardiola? I doubt Lennon, or the other 2, are interested in how much they'd get if they get sacked.

As I said before.... Ally is on the same.

12 month rolling contracts are sensible when it comes to managers.

Yeah, but it looks odd considering Desmond said before the Scottish Cup final that he'd be getting a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG contract.
