WeirFleckNRothen 1,789
The highest paid, I'm guessing, would have been between 1998 (The Advocaat era) and 2002 (Just before McLeish's reign) and an assumption would be Ronald de Boer.He came from Ajax and Barcelona, so it would have taken an absolute package to keep him in Scotland.Ferguson will obviously have been up there, too. BlueSuedeSambas 56,434
I'm going to throw Boumsong's name into the hat.Highly rated player who had a lot of clubs chasing him and was available on a bosman.
KBOO72 4,777
Any ideas what flo would have been earning ? Must have been a hefty wage after the fee we paid for him .
aqualung 126
Did Boumsong and his agent not get a hefty cut of the fee Newcastle paid for him? I seem to remember that was why he agreed to sign such a long term contract (5 years if I recall correctly) so his wages would have been big but he'd have made a serious wedge on the way out the door.
