Reformation Bear 6,453 Posted April 15, 2015 Share Posted April 15, 2015 Feels more and more like McCall is falling into the way of thinking that it cannot get any worse, the bad luck, the chances not quite falling right, the lack of creation of goal scoring chances. And that the tide will turn and experience will win out in the end. That somehow in the end game the old heads will find their nerve, find their confidence, find their touch, find the back of the net, stop the opposition from scoring........and deliver promotion. Its place your bets time. Experience to win out over inexperienced youth. With each passing game the bet becomes laced more with hope and prayer than with expectation that the tide of fortune will turn because they are simply not performing. Not even near to performing. Nowhere near justifying a place in the first team squad even. But if he (McCall) loses his nerve over experience now and ditches Boyd and McCulloch and some others and it does not pay off then the question will always be 'what if he'd stuck with Boyd, McCulloch etc?' Its becoming more and more of a gamble.Maybe Boyd and a few others should have been sent along with Durrant to work their game out in the development side and when they show they can deliver and score goals and work a bit harder then bring them back. But its too late for that now. Right now we are in throw the dice mode at each game and wait and see what Rangers team turns up on the day. One thing is clear though, Boyd is simply a passenger. A burden even.Should he be kept on for next season? Can't see that being a possibility. Even if he offered to play for half pay or less I still can't see that happening. He failed. Miller failed us.
